"I had a clog in my kitchen sink and took apart the p-trap and other pipes under the sink to try to clear the clog. It was obvious the problem was down somewhere in my waste pipe. I called All About and they had Ben come out the next day. Ben tried to access the drain pipe from the basement clean-out, but that thing hadn't been opened up in years and was rusted shut. Ben was able to get a snake down from the top and clear the drain. He was initially afraid maybe the drain pipe down to the sewer line was rusted through. He inspected it and said the pipe was actually in decent shape. When Ben put everything back together he realigned some of the pipes under the sink that were a bit wonky and relocated my dishwasher hose to drain better. Ben was kind, thorough, professional, and tidy. All About will always be my plumbing company!"

"I had such a mess! The first time my finished basement flooded it came in the door. The next TWO times it came in the back wall at the ground level--after I had the huge pool filled in. David designed a solution for the side yard that included diverting the water down the driveway and into the street drain. He did a gravel-filled drain across the end of the drive. He was going to do a driveway channel drain and grate across the drive in front of the garage and exterior door but found there was a sewage pipe there, so he designed another gravel drain there. The backyard got multiple drains at different levels down the length of the yard. As soon as that was complete, the side of the house, which was ALWAYS wet, dried out completely! David is so professional. He explains his plans in depth so you know what's going to happen. He put down grass seed and straw, moved and then replanted plants, and had to dispose of huge pieces of cement that came out of the yard where the pool was. I can't say how pleased I am to have my house safeguarded. David is the real deal."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.

There are several potential causes of a gap at the top of your storm door. For one, your door may naturally start to sag as your house settles over time. Other possible explanations include loose screws, faulty hinges, damaged weatherstripping, or incorrect installation. The right solution for fixing a gap will depend on the cause.

Storm doors provide an additional barrier for your main entryway and offer several features that can help deter intruders. Many models have glass panels, which let you see who’s outside without opening the door, and others come with their own locks, creating an extra layer of security. For the highest level of protection, it’s best to combine storm and security doors, security cameras, and alarm systems.

The difference between a right-hand and left-hand storm door is where the handle is located. When looking at the door from the outside of your home, a right-hand storm door will have the handle on the right-hand side, while a left-hand storm door will have the handle on the left. Your storm door handle will be on the same side as your front door handle.

Yes, modular homes are typically safe for areas prone to hurricanes. In regions at risk of severe storms, local zoning guidelines often require that these dwellings be built using materials designed to endure strong winds and heavy rainfall, ensuring they meet the safety standards for such conditions.
