Customers say: Super punctual

"ZR was professional from the initial contact thru completion of services. The crew delivered and spread 20 yards of mulch to our yard. I was contacted the morning that work began informing me that the crew was on their way. They arrived soon after, looked at the yard and asked a few questions and then efficiently and carefully went about their work. We have a number of trees, bushes, and areas of vegetation ground cover. The crew was great about filling in around all these areas. Our yard looks great again thanks to their fine work."

"WOW!! Itâ s so rare to find a company that exceeds your expectations, but this was our experience from start to finish with Carolina Grading & Land Clearing! Tim & Alisa are a dynamic duo, good communicators, punctual and have a great team of motivated, professional workers. Gary, the lead on our project, was phenomenal! He listened to what we were hoping to accomplish on our land, offered suggestions and then followed through to masterfully transform our property! There is no doubt due to their accumulative expertise in land development the money we spent for land clearing and grading not only made our property more usable, but it greatly increased the overall value of our property. Talk about a WIN-WIN! Thank you Carolina Grading team!!"

"Thomas called soon after I submitted the request. He scheduled to come by for an estimate within a day (much quicker than others) and then was able to schedule the project sooner than I expected. Wood chips were in a nice pile and stump ground completely to the ground."

Small jobs welcome

"These people are great. I had them weed wack several large areas, mulch several areas of yard, cut brush and fall several 5" trees, trim and shape several bushes on patio. When they finished they cleaned and blew off the work areas. They were very professional and courtesy. I strongly recommend them and will use them for future projects."

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
