"AH Concrete did a great job on our patio extension. Alberto was very friendly and professional, and communicated very well throughout the whole process. Our concrete is smooth and looks very nice. He also did a great job cleaning up, going above and beyond by working in the rain to clean up our backyard. His price was very reasonable, and I would recommend AH Concrete if you need concrete services."

"Exelente!!! Dough is an excellent guy to work with. The workmanship and detail he put on rebuilding and remodeling my home was A+!!! He recently pour a concrete driveway at my daughter’s house as well as a gravel driveway to my second daughter and they are very happy with the results. If you are not happy with the results he will do his best to remedy anything and make people happy. Doug always told me “ I will do whatever it needs to be done to make you happy”. Doug is also very fair an honest. I highly recommend him as the owner of NC Elite Co. for your future projects. AND, Yes I will rehire him again?"

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.

The cost to weld aluminum averages about $14 to $22 per pound. The type of metal factors into the overall cost of any welding project due to the cost of the materials and the expertise required to work with it. Some of the most common metals used by welders include:

  • Magnesium alloy: $7–$16 per pound

  • Low-carbon steel: $11–$12 per pound

  • Stainless steel: $13–$15 per pound

  • Copper/brass: $24–$29 per pound

  • Cast iron: $38–$79 per pound

  • Titanium: $60–$85 per pound

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.
