"Ralph sold us 17 windows and a front door. Omar and his crew came out at 10:30 am, and finished everything up and cleaned, and were out of here by 6 pm. The crew worked quickly and efficiently , were pleasant, and courteous. Omar's final walk through was quick, thorough, and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we can't wait for future dealings with this company."

"Great job! Carlos and his team were excellent at installing my front door. It wasn’t an easy task, it was a single door, installed a double door. Also installed two outside lights. Great job! Will hire them again!"

Small jobs welcome

"John responded immediately to my initial phone call. We set up a time to come see my project for the following day. He arrived on time, listened to our idea and asked enough questions to understand what we wanted. He then asked to bring in another pro to look at the project and between the two of them they laid out a plan. They began within two days and finished before my deadline. Their work was first rate in every way. Done correctly, finished beautifully and they cleaned and tidied up each workday. Always courteous and on time. If I had another project I would call John and I recommend him highly. Our project was to create a wall where none existed and to install a pocket door there. You’d never know that it hadn’t always been there. Perfect."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

Awning windows can have screens, but it depends on your manufacturer. If your awning window does have a screen, it will be on the interior side so it doesn’t get in the way when you crank the window open. Having the screen on the inner part of the window also makes it easier to clean from inside your home.

The average cost to screen-in your patio ranges from $2,000 to $4,000. How much you spend depends on the size of your patio, the materials used, and construction complexity. Some patio screen room kits are easy to DIY, but you may need to hire a local screened-in porch builder and obtain permits for more complex designs.

Yes, adding windows adds value to a brick house. Homeowners don’t shy away from more natural light and an opportunity to get fresh air. Adding a window is particularly beneficial if you live in an area with good weather for much of the year or if your home has a nice view. Keep in mind that many older brick homes have historic wood windows that add to the charm of the house. When you install a new window in a brick house, you’ll want to find one that matches the aesthetic of the existing windows.

While windows increase a home’s value, how much they increase it can vary. It depends on the age of the home and the type of windows. You can expect about 70% to 85% return on investment (ROI) when adding a window to your home.
