"During hurricane Florence, a tornado touched down on our vacant property, taking down a huge number of large trees and laying waste to the area. We could hardly get over the deadfall to survey the damage, and many hangers and leaning trees made the area dangerous. Considering how Florence treated this town, even after six months, it was not easy to find a responsive, competent tree service to address the problem. Matt came in to assess the project, gave me a fair price estimate within the day, and was able to start only a few days after that. Very responsive! Within two days, with the help of a crew of 3 or 4, the access roads to the property were cleared, the dangerous trees were taken out, and all the waste was hauled off (we do not like burns). We appreciate the hard work that Matt and his crew put in, and plan to hire Pro-Lawn again when we continue the clearing project later in the year."

"The experience went very well. Very professional. Punctual and kind. I believe his name was Alberto, my appointment was at 9 they called at 830 and asked if he could come about 845. Showed up was kind and courteous. He did a basketball ball court for my boys. Told me to stay clear for a couple days and he came out and took the ropes off and it was all good to go. So thank you I am a very pleased person. If anyone needs concrete work done I would say to hire AH concrete. Very reasonable pricing as well."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

If you or your mortgage lender think your land survey needs to be more accurate, double-check the survey report and get at least a second opinion from the original surveyor and an inspector, if possible. Although it’s unlikely, even reputable surveying companies can make mistakes. An inaccurate survey can cause problems down the road in the case of any property line disputes, so it’s best to resolve any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

It is almost always necessary to hire a land surveyor near you to ensure your fence sits on the right side of the property line. Mistaking the shape of your property can lead to fines and costly changes if you have to move or adjust the privacy fence—not to mention some surly looks from your neighbor. We recommend jumpstarting your fence planning in the spring to ensure there is plenty of time to map out your plan before construction season.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Professional well contractors may use electromagnetic mapping to look for places with a high likelihood of water. Water access can vary significantly, even on the same property, so it can be difficult to know where to drill if you don’t have specialized tools to look for water.
