"Lesson learned. Always get an estimate. BEFORE the work is done. At least a digital copy. Arrangements for the project were made, with some one named Lynn, for the company to send someone to complete the work. We were quoted over the phone 4500-5000 which included a mold test. A sub contractor with an entirely different company (National Mold Company) was sent. When the contractor arrived, he stated that the job would be much more simpler than first thought. This led us to believe that the job would cost less, no. All said and done, they charged $5500. All said and done, it's almost like no work was done. The stains and the smell are still there. Only one actual board was taken upon the attic room. The ceiling in the bedroom was primed and painted but are still visible and have a funky smell. At this point I'm going to. Do what we should have done; Do the job ourselves. Just now with $5500 less dollars in our pockets. A detailed receipt was not given even though it was requested."

"They installed new plumbing in my new home. There are leaks and other issues. I have called them numerous times to fix the issues and cannot get a callback. You would think a veteran-owned company would stand by their work."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

Asheville’s mountain climate and seasonal humidity can impact asbestos removal timelines, so plan projects accordingly. Homes in historic districts may require special permits or extra steps for asbestos abatement. Limited local disposal facilities mean scheduling waste transport in advance is wise. With fewer certified contractors in the area, book early. Notify neighbors about upcoming work, especially in close-knit neighborhoods, to minimize disruptions and maintain good relations.

Helpful?

In Asheville, homeowners often underestimate the risks of disturbing asbestos-containing materials, especially in older bungalows and craftsman homes. Attempting DIY asbestos abatement or hiring unlicensed contractors can lead to improper asbestos disposal and airborne contamination. Failing to schedule professional asbestos testing before renovations and neglecting post-removal air quality checks are common errors. Always verify contractor credentials and follow Asheville’s strict disposal protocols to protect your household.

Helpful?

In Asheville, asbestos removal projects typically arise during major home remodels, especially in neighborhoods with pre-1980 homes. Homeowners may also need asbestos abatement when selling historic properties or after storm damage exposes hidden materials. Spring and summer see more projects due to favorable weather for renovations. For many Asheville residents, asbestos removal is a rare but crucial step tied to significant property updates or compliance needs.

Helpful?

Completing asbestos removal in Asheville provides immediate health protection by eliminating exposure to hazardous fibers and ensuring your home meets NC safety regulations. Long-term, you’ll reduce the risk of respiratory illnesses, preserve or enhance your property’s value, and simplify future renovations. Proper asbestos abatement also minimizes legal liabilities and gives you peace of mind, knowing your living environment is safe and compliant for years to come.

Helpful?

After asbestos removal in Asheville, schedule follow-up asbestos testing to confirm safe indoor air quality. Keep all abatement and asbestos disposal documentation for future property transactions. If any asbestos was encapsulated rather than removed, arrange periodic inspections to monitor its condition. Regularly clean HVAC systems and maintain any new building materials installed during the project to ensure ongoing safety and compliance with local standards.
