Small jobs welcome

"Dakota was fast, responsive and did an amazing job. He thoroughly cleaned our windows inside and out plus the window sills on all sides. We had a mold issue in our home and he decontaminated the mold around the sills and the inside seams of the windows and cleaned it beautifully. He also cleaned our gutters and down spouts which had been compacted with leaf debris. He took photos of the work before and after and communicated clearly with us throughout the job. I would definitely hire him again for future jobs without hesitation! He was a pleasure to work with."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, you should never use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to clean flat paint or paint with any other finish. Isopropyl alcohol works similarly to a paint thinner, so it’s likely to liquify the paint on your walls and leave damaged or bare areas. For stubborn stains, try mixing one cup of vinegar or baking soda into a bucket of warm water and scrubbing very gently with a soft sponge. If the stain or soiling is pervasive, touch up the area by repainting the affected areas.

Unless it’s written into the purchase agreement, there’s no legal obligation that a house you’ve bought has to be clean before you move in. The previous owner is generally required to sweep the house, but that doesn’t guarantee everything will be spotless upon your arrival. If possible, discuss the cleaning requirements with the real estate company before moving in.

Do not mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia, acidic liquids, or other cleaners or detergents as toxic fumes result from the chemical reaction. Mix bleach only with water to avoid dangerous chemical reactions. Even mixed with water to dilute it, bleach can still be harmful to your skin, eyes, and lungs.

You can clean your bathroom like a professional by keeping your cleaning tools and products organized and having a cleaning plan or routine. Most cleaning pros start by dusting and sweeping first and applying cleaning solutions. You should let the solutions sit in your bathtub, shower, sink, and toilet, and wipe everything down with fresh cleaning cloths. A final mop gives the finishing touch.

Typically, professional organizers do not provide cleaning services like vacuuming or dusting. Their primary role is to declutter your home by rearranging items, maximizing storage space, and helping you decide what to discard. However, some larger companies that offer professional organizing may also provide home cleaning services, and hiring a company for both can be more economical. Hiring an organizer is a helpful way to reset and tidy your house, making it easier to stay on top of cleaning in the future. You can also hire a local cleaner to come in after the organizing is complete.
