"I can’t say enough good things about working with Peter Harris. We had a construction emergency and Peter took care of it skillfully and efficiently. Just after we went under contract to sell a family member’s condo, a water leak ruined the flooring and some cabinetry throughout the home. Immediately we struggled to work with the insurance company and find a contractor. Sourcing a reliable craftsman in Bozeman’s market seemed nearly impossible, and if we didn’t get the damage fixed quickly and competently, the water was likely to cause even more damage and we may have lost our buyer. Whether or not you can replace an undermount sink without removing the countertop depends on the type of countertop you have. Removing an old sink from granite countertops is relatively easy without removing the countertop, but other materials like laminate, or unusually shaped countertops, may need to be removed or modified.

Solid surface countertops are fairly resilient. You can use soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners. You can also occasionally use diluted bleach (around 5 tablespoons per gallon of water) for sanitization. Avoid window cleaners because they leave a waxy film that can dull the countertop’s surface. Solid surface material is nonporous, so there’s no need for sealing.

When properly cared for, Corian® countertops last 20 to 30 years. Maintenance tasks to increase longevity include fixing damage as soon as possible, cleaning up spills immediately, and promptly taking care of small or cosmetic damage. You can buff out scratches with sandpaper and remove water stains with a water stain remover.

Corian® is a well-known brand that sells solid-surface countertops. However, they're not the only ones who offer this product. “Corian® countertops” and “solid-surface countertops” are often used interchangeably because the parent company was the first to patent the solid-surface counter. Once the company lost the patent, other companies began offering their version of solid-surface countertops.

It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting.
