Customers say: True professional

"Put roof repair in the search engine, and TopLine Exterior LLC came up again in Angie's List. I left a request for the repair of my roof. Jared called me. He was personable, very informative, explaining what happens when the shingles rot and why it rained in my house. I appreciated that he took the time to educate me. He also sent pictures of the information he discussed so that I could educate myself. He was kind enough to send over a co-worker who shoveled the snow off my roof and assessed the damage. That was on a Monday. I was thrilled that it wasn't raining at my house anymore. On Saturday, Jared stopped by, looked at the roof, and told me what it would take for a new roof, not a repair. I was shown the pictures, and Jared explained what would be done. I accepted the offer. I really appreciated that Jared worked with my hours of being home. On Tuesday, Jared was on my personal roofer at 10 am, and by Thursday, I had a new roof. You'll get it done right!"

"The entire experience with Dabella was very professional. The sales representative (Andrew) did a great job of discussing the problems with our old roof and providing information about the new Debella roof system. There was no high pressure sales pitch and he was always very pleasant. The work crew showed up promptly, as scheduled, at 7 am and stayed with the project finishing in just one day. Our new Debella roof looks great and should last us a lifetime."

"I discovered a leak in my roof during a recent storm. Dylan Wilson, the owner of Lolo Peak Roofing, came out while it was still pouring rain and patched the leak until he could do a full inspection. Within a week, he and his hard-working crew were here to replace my aging roof. They kept me updated about the timeline throughout the project and did wonderful work while sticking to the original quote. There was water damage inside the home and they were able to remediate that as well. I would highly recommend them for anyone’s roofing needs."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Missoula frequently overlook the importance of meeting local snow load requirements or select roofing materials not rated for Montana's climate. Skipping proper attic ventilation can cause ice dams, while improper flashing leads to leaks. The Missoula Building Department stresses the need to follow wind uplift standards and choose an adequate roof pitch for snow shedding to avoid future repairs and code violations.

Helpful?

In Missoula, hidden costs during roofing projects often include structural reinforcement for snow loads, replacing water-damaged decking, and addressing ice dam issues. Permit and inspection fees from the Missoula Building Department, as well as expenses for disposing of old roofing materials, can add up. Unforeseen problems like poor attic ventilation or pest damage are sometimes discovered only after the old roof is removed.

Helpful?

Roofing in Missoula requires strict adherence to OSHA safety standards, including fall protection systems and proper ladder use. The Missoula Building Department recommends monitoring weather forecasts closely, as sudden storms and icy conditions are common. Always use fire-resistant practices during wildfire season and ensure all workers wear appropriate winter gear. Prioritizing site safety helps prevent injuries and ensures compliance with local regulations.

Helpful?

For roofing projects in Missoula, MT, metal roofing is highly recommended due to its durability, snow-shedding capability, and fire resistance—key for local weather conditions. Asphalt shingles are popular for roof replacement, but ensure they're rated for heavy snow loads. Before choosing slate or tile, consult a structural engineer. The Missoula Building Department advises selecting materials specifically tested for Montana's temperature swings and winter conditions.

Helpful?

In Missoula, a building permit from the Missoula Building Department is required for most roof replacement projects, especially when structural changes are involved. Projects must comply with the International Building Code and local snow load standards. If your home is in a historic district or within city limits, check with the Missoula Historic Preservation Office for additional requirements before starting any roofing work.
