"This is the second time I have hired Lee and his crew, he never disappoints, if it wasn't for the fresh paint smell and the cleanliness of the house you would have never known they were there. Very few contractors leave it better than they find it, but Lee's crew does. I hired them to paint all walls and ceilings of a 2300 square foot house. I called Lee for an estimate, he was there in two days, once he walked around he gave me his bid. Of course I will say it was high, but it wasn't, the job included pulling wallpaper from two rooms, sanding kitchen cabinets and painting, sealing all walls then painting. It is a all plaster house so the sealing portion is vital, basically they removed the wallpaper, and then painted the house twice, once with sealer, once with paint. All holes were patched in each room. Four bedrooms (to include all closets), two living rooms, a kitchen, dining room and only one of the two baths were completed (by my choice, I was having a total remodel of the other bathroom.) All items were removed from the walls, (light switch covers, brass hooks, light fixtures) then put back into place once complete. So the big question...how long? Well let me tell you, can you believe it was only two weeks...actually less than ten working days. There is no way I could have done that work in that amount of time, and it look that good !! Money well spent!!"

Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Putting up new wallpaper tends to take one to two days, depending on the size of the area, whether old paper needs to be removed, and if there is any damage to walls that needs to be smoothed over or fixed.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.

Deciding between a lighter or darker accent wall depends on the effect you’re going for. Choosing an accent wall in a lighter color will make a room feel brighter and more spacious and complement rooms with less natural light. A darker accent wall will add drama and depth to a room and help make larger rooms feel more cozy and intimate.
