Small jobs welcome

"Insulation is expensive and we went with the better quality insulation so it was pricey but competitive. Their work was fast, efficient and the person I was in contact with, Nick, was extremely kind and respectful. I was caught up in meetings a lot when I was trying to get it booked and he was even open to texting me and answering my questions. Great Service! Would Highly Recommend."

"Koala was great, they suggested an alternative solution which was priced much better than the doom and gloom contractors that bid before them. I would hire them again."

"Performed insulation work on our home. Vacuumed out the 25 year old blown in insulation on day one, then sprayed in foam for the whole roof to include the attached garage, and cleaned up afterwards. When there was confusion of the work they performed (my fault) Lee called me up to see if we were satisfied and was willing to do more to make me happy, but this was not necessary after he explained the work performed and I agreed that all was good. They came in on the week promised, delivered what was expected, and at a very competitive price. Also for veterans, they do give a veterans discount, so don't forget to ask."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Ideally, you can add new insulation to your existing insulation. However, some circumstances require you to remove old insulation before adding any new insulation:

  • If the insulation is over 15 years old

  • If the insulation is wet or moldy

  • If it is vermiculite insulation

  • If you see signs of pest infestation

Removing old insulation is best left to a pro who can safely dispose of potential moldy or asbestos-ridden insulation.

Yes, you can install insulation behind drywall yourself, but only if your walls are not finished. If your studs are exposed, installing fiberglass insulation in roll or batt form is very straightforward and just requires a few tools and some safety equipment. If your walls are already finished and you’re looking to add insulation, it’s better to hire a professional, as you’ll likely need blown-in insulation, which can be dangerous to work with and a challenge to get into the proper areas in your wall voids.

Through R-value assessments based on climate and existing insulation.

Installing sheets of plywood over attic insulation is a popular choice, especially in storage spaces. That said, insulation works by trapping hot air—so it needs extra space to expand and be effective, or you might reduce the energy efficiency of your home.

It’s important that you never compress the insulation by installing flooring directly on top of it. In many houses, you’ll need to install a subfloor before putting plywood over insulation in your attic.

Yes, an automatic pool cover retains heat. It can act as a thermal blanket because the heavy vinyl traps heat underneath, keeping the water warmer than if there wasn’t a cover. Keeping the pool cover closed when the pool’s not in use can also help reduce water utilities and save on pool chemical costs because there won’t be as much evaporation.
