"They came out, gave me a quote for the job which I thought was reasonable. While they were here they also gave me a quote for the porch I was building. The crew was courteous and the work was everything I expected. They cleaned the work site daily. They also made sure to roll the yard for any nails or screws . I think they were very professional and did a great job."

"This company is awesome!! They came in gave a very satisfying quote for the painting of our home. Of course I added additional rooms to be painted. I know that it would be additional cost which was within my budget. The customer service was exceptional from each crew member. I recommend LF Synergy for all of your painting needs. I am a satisfied customer and I will contract this company in the future. They went over and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. Thank you for your outstanding service!!"

Skipping the installation of a drip edge or gutter apron can lead to significant water damage. Without this component, water is more likely to seep under roofing materials or leak behind gutters, damaging the fascia, soffits, siding, and even the interior of your home, such as the attic. Over time, this moisture can cause rot, mold, and deterioration. In colder climates, a missing drip edge also increases the risk of ice dams, which can lead to expensive repairs. A drip edge is an essential part of a roof's drainage system, and some local building codes may even require its installation to protect the home from water damage.

While a few icicles on your roof are standard, a large accumulation can be a sign of a bigger problem, such as poor insulation. This is particularly true if you are also dealing with ice dams. If you have numerous large icicles, it is recommended to have a roofing contractor diagnose potential insulation issues and create a plan to solve them.

A roof's lifespan can range from 15 to 200 years, with an average of 25 to 50 years, depending heavily on the material, quality of installation, maintenance, and local climate. Asphalt shingle roofs are common and typically last 15 to 30 years; three-tab shingles have a lifespan of about 20 years, while architectural shingles can last up to 30. More durable materials have longer lifespans: metal roofs last 30 to 100 years, clay and concrete can last 50 to 100 years, and slate roofs can last up to 200 years with proper care. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning gutters and replacing damaged shingles, is crucial for extending the life of any roof.

The proper specifications for furring strips can vary, so you should always consult the roofing manufacturer's guidelines or your roofer. However, general recommendations are as follows:

  • Thickness: Furring strips are typically 1 to 1-1/2 inches thick, meaning standard 1-by or 2-by lumber works well. In areas with extreme winds, a thinner strip may be preferred to limit how much air can get under the roof and cause uplift. A thicker strip can add slightly more insulation but will also increase installation costs.

  • Spacing: The recommended spacing for furring strips is between 12 and 24 inches apart on center. Proper spacing is crucial for ensuring good airflow, adequate drainage, noise reduction, and better energy efficiency. The ideal spacing can depend on the roof's pitch and the specific type of metal roofing being installed.

Yes, many chimney professionals offer cap installations to prevent debris buildup and animal entry.
