"They came out, gave me a quote for the job which I thought was reasonable. While they were here they also gave me a quote for the porch I was building. The crew was courteous and the work was everything I expected. They cleaned the work site daily. They also made sure to roll the yard for any nails or screws . I think they were very professional and did a great job."

"This company is awesome!! They came in gave a very satisfying quote for the painting of our home. Of course I added additional rooms to be painted. I know that it would be additional cost which was within my budget. The customer service was exceptional from each crew member. I recommend LF Synergy for all of your painting needs. I am a satisfied customer and I will contract this company in the future. They went over and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. Thank you for your outstanding service!!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Walking on an asbestos roof can pose a risk. Asbestos roofing materials can become brittle over time, increasing the chances of them breaking or releasing fibers when stepped on. Additionally, walking on an asbestos roof without proper precautions can cause further damage to the material. If possible, avoid touching an asbestos roof in any way and consult with a professional about removing and replacing the roof.

In most cases and locations, roofs with a single layer of asphalt roofing shingles won't require roof removal before installing a metal roof. However, underlayment may be necessary on roofs with moderate shingle damage. Heavily damaged roofs or ones with multiple shingle layers will most likely require removal before a metal roof can go on.

Gable vents are more common in older homes built before the 1970s. Homes built after this era use ridge vents or soffits, but you can sometimes find homes with both gable and ridge vents. Gable vents can have a purely aesthetic purpose, while ridge vents hide in the roof shingles so air can flow under the roof while keeping the attic dry.

Asphalt shingles, wooden shakes, and slate or clay roofing tiles are often replaceable without having to replace the entire roof. It's possible to replace just a few shingles or tiles without much trouble in the case of wind damage or other minor problems. DIYers can perform the task in some situations. However, professional repair is always the best bet when it comes to roofing.

Architectural shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years. While some manufacturers provide warranties for 30 to 50 years, particularly for extreme weather, achieving such a long lifespan is uncommon. The actual life of your shingles can be shorter if you live in an area prone to strong winds, hailstorms, or other severe weather. To avoid the risk of roof failure and costly water damage from leaks, it is recommended to replace your roof before it reaches the end of its expected life. Scheduling regular roof inspections every few years is a good way to assess your roof's condition and determine the best timeline for replacement.
