"First met Chandler four years ago when a pipe burst in my home and I needed my floors replaced. He came out later that same day to give me an quote and began the job soon after. Ever since Nelsonâ s Construction and Floor Design has been servicing my friends and family. Recently got a new deck and privacy fence done by them. Can do most anything regarding improving a home and does it well. Would recommend"

"I was very disappointed in the service - part of it might have been my expectations. I have had cleaners in my home regularly over the years and had assumed 7 hours of cleaning would be enough to do most of my house. I asked that the bathrooms (3 and 1/2) and the kitchen be first priority. What I received was the upper floor (2 baths/4 bedrooms) adequately cleaned and the kitchen appliances and counter cleaned. I'm sorry but 7 hours of cleaning and my house did not look much better than before they came in."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

If you’re looking for commercial cleaners, just check the label to find options that say they are safe for vinyl. Otherwise, homemade cleaners work great for vinyl plank flooring. Baking soda paste works well for spot-cleaning, and vinegar mixed with water is best for all-over cleaning. You can even clean your floors with plain water, which is great for everyday maintenance.

Common options include hardwood, tile, and vinyl floors. Professionals tailor methods to the specific material.

Both buffing and polishing increase the longevity of your floors by removing scratches and buildup, but they are different processes. Polishing removes the top layer of your floor, removing surface-level scuffs and scratches. Buffing your floor involves filling the scratches and scuffs with a buffing solution. No matter which method you choose, you can rest assured that both techniques will leave your floor looking shiny and new.

Yes, many services offer waxing as part of the polishing process. Confirm with your provider.

The cost to polish floors averages around $200 per room, but you could pay anywhere from $100 to $300. Some factors that influence the total cost of floor polishing include the following:

  • Square footage of flooring

  • Type of floor

  • Whether you need floor repairs done beforehand

  • Whether or not you want professional floor cleaning done beforehand

Since square footage is the most significant cost factor, you might get a more accurate estimate by using the average cost per square foot for floor polishing, which is between $1.00 and $2.50.
