"We contacted JSC Construction LLC to paint the trim and walls of my daughters room. The process from getting an estimate to the actual work was quick. The final result was flawless, leaving my daughter extremely pleased. I would definitely hire them again for any future projects."

"Rod is a man of his word, he and his assistant took pride in their work and did a excellent job. I was told up front that he would only use the best paint from Sherwin Williams to do the job because he stood behind his work.Every time they would leave for the day, everything was picked up and put in its place. They were very informative with any questions and when the job was complete they made sure that we were satisfied. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. If hired just supply them with a plug-in for the radio and watch them in action and you will soon see that this is not their first rodeo. They are very good at what they do!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Provided conditions are ideal, staining an entire deck should take as little as a couple of hours and up to a couple of days to apply and cure. Additional procedures, like sealing a deck or using additional treatments, may extend the project by a few additional days.

Ipe wood can last up to 75 years with minimal maintenance because its own oils help to preserve it. However, to get the most out of your Ipe wood deck, you should perform some routine maintenance, including regular cleaning, sweeping of leaves and debris, and rinsing spills with a hose. It’s also important to repair any deep scratches as soon as you spot them and reseal the deck annually to protect against scratches and scuffs.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.

You should seal your deck every one to two years, but you’ll also need to clean and repair your wood deck throughout the seasons. You may want to hire a local house cleaning service to sweep and clean the deck thoroughly. These cleaning services cost around $50 per hour.

Inspect your deck at least once a year, and if you notice any damage or rot, expect to spend about $10 to $50 for simple DIY fixes or about $2,000 for professional repairs on more extensive damage.

Two coats of stain are ideal for the best protection and aesthetic appeal. However, if your decking is made of particularly dense hardwood, you may only need one coat. If you want an intense color, two coats are ideal.
