"Jay came out and scoped out the projects (replacing wooden stairs/ladder system to the attic). He measured, explained a few options for the job, what parts would be needed, and all the costs and then gave us an estimate for time and cost for each option. When we made our decision on the option, he gave us a timeline for completion. He was very respectful ouf our property, called before he came, and kept us updated throughout. Loved the work he did and would definitely recommend"

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

Clean regularly, avoid harsh chemicals, and check hinges for proper alignment to ensure longevity.

DIY is possible, but professional assembly ensures proper alignment, stability, and cable management.

You can stack upper kitchen cabinets, but they may not fit neatly. Because upper kitchen cabinets are typically available in these standard sizes—12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches—you can stack various-sized upper cabinets. But, depending on your ceiling height, these standard sizes may not work together. That’s why smaller stacked cabinets are a much more stylish and economical choice.

It is typically cheaper to buy stock or semi-custom cabinets than to build custom ones. The price difference is significant:

  • Custom Cabinets: Cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot. This price is affected by materials, size, design complexity, and door styles. For instance, a simple slab door's materials might cost $60-$70, while a decorative mullioned glass door could be $100-$200.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: Cost between $150 and $700 per linear foot.

  • Stock Cabinets: Cost between $100 and $400 per linear foot.

While buying pre-built cabinets is more cost-effective, building custom cabinets allows for full modification to fit unique spaces, such as rooms with high ceilings or unusual layouts, which stock options cannot accommodate.

The cost to install a kitchen island ranges from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800. The final cost depends on whether you buy a prefabricated unit or have one custom-built. Prefabricated kitchen islands are generally cheaper. A simple prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent, stationary prefabricated island costs from $900 to $5,000. A custom-built kitchen island averages around $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.
