"Billy and his workers are courteous and kind. They worked several days and did much needed repairs to my 74 year old house. They replaced supporting beams under my house, pressure washed my deck, carport, walks, and painted the deck. Billy came back today and did "finishing" work on wood lattice surround on the deck at no charge. The kind of people I would welcome into my home! I fed them lunch on the days they were here working and sent Billy home today with some fresh picked blueberries. Amazing work for a fair price."

"I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Fox from Fox Remodeling in the Tupelo MS area, and I am beyond impressed with his exceptional skills as a handyman. Mr. Fox embodies honesty, punctuality, integrity, and he truly keeps his word. His workmanship is outstanding, and his prices are fair and reasonable. One instance that truly showcased Mr. Fox's integrity was when he refunded me the leftover money after my remodeling project. The materials costs turned out to be lower than expected, and instead of keeping the extra funds, Mr. Fox promptly returned them to me. This level of transparency and honesty is something I've never experienced before. The transformation he brought to my home was remarkable. The before and after comparison of his work is like night and day. His attention to detail and dedication to quality craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of the project. From start to finish, he maintained his punctuality and professionalism. I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Fox for any home repairs or remodeling projects. He is not only a skilled and capable handyman but also a trustworthy individual who goes above and beyond for his clients. If you're looking for someone who delivers exceptional results with integrity and fairness, Mr. Fox is the one to call."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.

Common problems include leaks, broken glass, and damaged frames. Regular maintenance prevents extensive damage.

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

On average, it cost $2,900 to rescreen a patio, porch, or sunroom, with homeowners paying anywhere from $800 to $5,200. The cost to rescreen a porch, patio, or sunroom enclosure depends on the size of the enclosure, the extent of the damage, and the materials used to replace existing screens.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.
