"AirSouth is my air condition company. Coil replacement in most difficult spot in the house/attics. After job was complete the unit still did not cool after a couple of days. Technician sent to investigate no questions asked and no money exchanged. Found source of problem but made a mistake in the recharge of unit so, couple of days later still not cooling. Again without hesitation and with urgency technician sent to try and figure out what was going on, fixed the charge issue and unit has been working without incident for over a month. Warranty on work and customer service unparalleled in this area, they have my business. Very professional group with invoices and quotes and such. About to join a home warranty company and will pay the extra amount it will cost us to be able to choose AirSouth for all our air condition needs."

Small jobs welcome

Hi, I’m Madisen — professional cleaner, bread enthusiast, and firm believer that everyone deserves a clean home without a side of judgment.\n\nLife gets messy. Kids happen. Depression happens. ADHD happens. Work gets crazy. Sometimes your laundry pile develops its own ecosystem. I’ve seen it all, and I promise I’ve never walked into a home thinking, “Wow, I can’t believe this.” Usually I’m thinking, “Challenge accepted.”\n\nMy goal is simple: make your home feel lighter, fresher, and more peaceful while making you laugh at least once along the way.\n\nI’m the kind of cleaner who will scrub your baseboards like they personally offended me, celebrate finding the floor again under the toy avalanche, and possibly show up with homemade bread for your first cleaning because that’s just the kind of chaos I’m bringing to the business.\n\nThis is a judgment-free zone. Whether your house is spotless and you just need an extra set of hands, or you’re one unfolded laundry basket away from filing a missing

They arrived when they said they would and installed the unit quickly then took time to explain the unit’s features and how to use the remote to control the unit, Everyone was very nice, polite, professional and overall, I had an excellent experience with Air Maintenance. "I had an issue with my computer where it was opening lots of pop ups, ad bars, and windows with ads for games. I had tried several different programs to try to remove it with no luck. I finally decided to call North Alabama Technical Service to see if I he could help. I was expecting to set up a time for him to look at it but he connected to my computer immediately and within an hour had it fixed and running perfect again. Great service at a great price and I didn't even have to disconnect it and carry it somewhere! Would call again if I have another issue I can't resolve myself."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is not legally required for HVAC technicians in most areas, but hiring a professional with this certification is highly recommended. NATE-certified technicians demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in different types of HVAC systems, offering assurance of quality service. It's a voluntary certification, yet it indicates a commitment to professionalism and ongoing training. Choosing a NATE-certified technician often means you're working with someone who is up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, which can lead to better service, energy efficiency, and long-term cost savings.

No, a furnace is not the same thing as an AC, or air conditioner, but these are both parts of an HVAC system. They both use air ducts to transport cool or hot air around your home to achieve a comfortable temperature set by your thermostat. An AC runs on electricity, while a furnace can use different fuel sources.

Window ACs use 500 to 1,400 watts per hour of electricity, while mini-splits use 500 to 700 watts per hour. However, if you need to cool multiple zones in your house, your mini-split can use as much as 2,000 watts per hour. How often you run your system will impact how much electricity you use (and how much you pay per month).

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.

It’s normal to hear a low humming sound as air moves through your vents. Most of the time, you probably won’t even notice it. However, if that sound becomes disruptive or if you hear more concerning noises (such as rattling, clicking, banging, hissing, or grinding), there might be a problem with your HVAC system.
