I urge that prospective customers insist on best business practices — get a written estimate up front on official letterhead that includes precise details of labor costs and all materials. Bryan Mackey stated that he charges $65 an hour. Be sure to clarify ahead of time whether the written estimate is a flexible ballpark figure or a bottom line guaranteed price for labor. It’s fine to paint over acrylic paint with latex paint as long as the surface is properly prepped. If your paint surface isn’t glossy, you should be able to apply your paint or primer directly to it.
