"I have to sand, scrap off splatter on all my cabinets and repaint. Even had epoxy on a cabinet handle! French doors scrap glass and frame. Sand and repaint brand new cabinet's that my husband built! Very disappointed but found someone that came in and did my floor the way I wanted!"

Renew Crew started as Wood Re New in March 1993 in Springfield Missouri. In 1993 we began researching products and realized there was a need for an exterior wood care expert that could clean and maintain decks, fences, docks, cedar and redwood siding. Hence, Wood Re New was born. During the second year in business, with the assistance of a chemist, Stan developed an environmentally safe cleaner specifically for exterior wood. This cleaner is actually a thick foam that clings to vertical surfaces better, and achieves amazing results. After restoring the wood’s original beauty we apply our exclusive Protectant to safeguard it from further damage by the elements. Our proprietary protectant repels water and blocks harmful u.v. rays and gives wood a rich, new appearance. Wood Re New started as a home based business and now occupies a 4000 sq. ft. location. In 2013, the year of 20th Anniversary, we became Renew Crew! "Terrible. This guy is a BS’er. He did paint the garage floor but when he got to the landscaping he came up with every excuse to not be here to do it. What should have been a 2 day or so project it ended up being about 10 days and then he didn’t finish it. He also took money for supplies and then ended up not showing up. He won’t answer my texts or phone calls. I definitely would not ever hire him again"

You typically aren’t in any immediate danger if your floors are sagging, but that doesn’t mean you should leave them unattended. Sagging is likely a sign of underlying problems with the structure of your home, such as uneven subflooring or rotting joists. Have your floors inspected by a local carpenter as soon as possible to help you determine the type of repairs needed.

A laminate floor will lift if it hasn’t been installed with the proper expansion gaps around the room’s perimeter. Laminate flooring naturally expands and contracts when indoor temperatures fluctuate, and without adequate room for expansion, the planks can lift off the subfloor. To avoid this, ensure your flooring installer knows to leave the proper expansion gaps.

Dry rot or severe water damage may warrant a replacement, but you don’t always need to replace damaged subflooring. If your subfloor has warped because it was installed incorrectly, you can sometimes shim the panels (in other words, add a thin, wedge-shaped piece of wood to level the surface). If your subfloor bows upward, you may be able to sand it down at the joist so it’s level, depending on the extent of the damage.

Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.
