"When no one locally even responded to my inquiries for a quote, Michelle got back to me the same day with a quote and description of how the repair would be done. It's a slight downside to have to ship one glove coast to coast for a minor repair on one finger. But the cost of shipping and the repair is much less than purchasing another $100 pair of gloves! The repair took a little longer than anticipated, but shipping time had to be factored in as well. Michelle was very prompt with communications during the process. Cost of service below did not include shipping which was about $16 round trip. The glove returned good as new...well as good as it's pair. The glove is two years old. But the seam was totally resewn and reinforced. Michelle stated she did not want to the issue to happen again. I hope it won't. The problem started with my fingers rubbing. Very happy with the service from Premier. I wish they had a shop in Maryland!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Before starting an upholstering project in Saint Joseph, carefully measure your furniture and add extra fabric to account for the city’s frequent humidity swings. Check fabric and supply stock early, as local stores may have limited options, especially after spring storms. Inspect for mold or musty odors following wet weather, and plan around events like the Trails West! Festival to avoid traffic and delivery delays.

Helpful?

Combining upholstering with other home upgrades in Saint Joseph, like refinishing hardwood floors or updating window treatments, can streamline your project and improve overall results. Coordinating with local contractors may unlock bundled service discounts. Scheduling projects during winter or early spring, when professionals are less busy, helps avoid repeated disruptions and makes the most of your investment in furniture restoration.

Helpful?

In Saint Joseph, neglecting to use a dehumidifier during humid months can lead to mold on furniture. Placing upholstered pieces near exterior basement walls increases moisture risks. Allowing pet hair, farm dust, or mud from shoes to build up wears out fabric faster. Direct sunlight fades upholstery, and storing items in damp areas can cause damage. Consistent cleaning and smart placement help preserve furniture restoration work.

Helpful?

For upholstering in Saint Joseph, keep essentials like a heavy-duty staple gun, webbing stretcher, and moisture-resistant batting. Store fabric in airtight containers with cedar blocks to deter pests and moisture, which are common in MO. A dehumidifier and fabric protector spray help maintain fabric care, while waterproof adhesives and mold prevention products are valuable for basement workshops or older homes.

Helpful?

In MO, address upholstering right away if you notice mold, mildew, pest damage, or structural issues, as these can worsen quickly in the region’s humid climate. Cosmetic flaws can wait if the furniture remains sturdy. Consider the season, your budget, and supplier availability. Evaluate the piece’s exposure to moisture, and plan major furniture restoration for milder weather to ensure the best results.
