"I requested three bids. The first company was high pressure sales and way over priced arrived lated to the appointment. The second comapny never showed up. Addco was my last company and he was on time to give me a quote. I was in a postion that I needed a small deck put up in the back yard quickly. Addco was well priced listened to my needs. Told me it was doable and in a very short trunaround. The team was awesome to work with. My next deck procject at my new house will be in the front to extend the porch to have a nice seating area and I'm deffiently going back to ADDCO to have it done, I couldn't been more pleased on how my deck trned out."

"Xtreme Renovations is A - No. 1 on all counts: Customer care; terms for doing business; skills; craftsmanship; and just general knowledge on how to go about building decks. The site conditions on my deck project were especially challenging, so it took a couple of onsite meetings to work out a construction strategy that I was comfortable with. They were very professional throughout that process, and I was especially impress with their terms for getting work underway. The skills and craftsmanship of the crew, as well as the onsite supervision were truly exceptional. The result is a very sturdy and stylish deck that I can be proud of, and that I will enjoy for many years to come. Thank You, Xtreme Renovations!"

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Log cabins are relatively difficult to maintain compared to a traditional house. That’s because log cabins require regular upkeep and care that can include refinishing and corncob blasting, a process similar to sandblasting that shoots ground-up corncob with compressed air.

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

On average, building or installing a gazebo costs around $5,700, with a typical range between $3,000 and $10,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. Material choice is a significant cost driver; for example, brick is often more affordable, while metal can be one of the more expensive options. Square-shaped gazebos can also be more expensive to build. Custom features, such as built-in seating or lighting, will increase the total price. You may be able to save money by purchasing a prefabricated gazebo kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

For many people, a gazebo is worth it, but it’s a matter of personal preference. If you love spending time outside but your yard doesn’t offer much protection from the sun or rain, then adding a gazebo might be worthwhile. Or, if you enjoy hosting dinner parties and want a nice outdoor space to gather with your friends, a gazebo could be a good investment.
