"This company is rumored to provide poor service. Our experience backs that up: Asked for estimate of both ongoing work and cleanup jobs. A representative came in a day or so--friendly, helpful, indicating they could start quickly and that the work was up their alley. Costs sounded reasonable. Said estimate would be sent in couple days. 5 days later, still no estimate. Inquired about it and we were told they don't do kind of work that we need, which makes no sense. Referred us to an entirely different company that specializes in hardscaping, walls, etc--which we don't need. Difficult to understand all this. Disappointing."

"It was okay. I didn't see the people. They came, did their work and left. I wanted aerating and over-seeding. I don't know if they had gotten a big response for their advertised price but I felt they came out kind of late and they didn't leave much time for grass to grow in the fall. Actually, I was a little disappointed in how long for them to come out. It was actually later towards the end of October before they actually got here, maybe the second week of October. They were good. There wasn't any additional cost. The price was really good that's why I scheduled the service with them."

"Allan, Jerry, and their crew did an amazing job removing the brush and cutting the limbs. Afterward, they cleaned up the site and used an air blower to remove dust. Will be hiring them again for more tree pruning and/or removal in the future."

"He is a very nice guy.  The only problem with him is that he is so busy that I cannot get him right away, and it might take him a week or two but he is just excellent.  They were both leaking and I wanted to replace them with energy efficient ones.  I had checked with another store and they said it was over $300 so I thought I would give Handyman Services a chance because he was $100 less.  I had done this before but I cannot do it anymore for myself, so I know about putting one in.  He recommended that we don’t use the wax rings that came with it; he had some extra thick ones which he used but did not charge me a bit extra for it though it must have been $30 or $40.  I know that the ones that we get with the product can leak.  He was cheaper than anybody else.  He was neat, efficient, and very personable.  I would highly recommend him.  If I had to wait a month for him I will, but I would not use anybody else."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.

If you’re DIYing the project, it could take up to a week if you aren’t able to dedicate full-time hours. If you hire a professional and they arrive with a team, expect your stairs to be sanded in as little as 2 hours (for simple projects). Finishing the stairs takes a while longer as there are drying and sealing times to consider, but the actual work will take much less time than the sanding portion.

Sandblasting refers to the process of cleaning a surface using compressed air and aggregate. Soda blasting is the gentlest type of this method, but it differs from sandblasting that uses mineral or other aggregate, since sodium bicarbonate breaks apart more easily than other forms of blast media and, therefore, cannot be reused.

The disadvantages of sandblasting are noise, mess, and risk. Sandblasters are louder than chainsaws and spread debris on the ground and through the air. Let your neighbors know that you're sandblasting so they can prepare. Sandblasting can damage your property if not done properly, so thoroughly vet any pros you talk to before hiring.
