Though aluminum and copper are some of the most common gutter materials, they aren't the only types of gutter materials on the market. There are also stainless steel gutters, vinyl gutters, zinc gutters, and wood gutters. Some homeowners choose to forgo traditional gutter systems entirely. However, the process requires significant preparation work so the paint sticks well and lasts, making the task worthwhile. Thorough cleaning, caulking seams, and using high-quality primer and paint are all necessary for achieving the best results. The cost to paint gutters averages $160 to $960.

Calcium chloride does not do significant damage to gutters when used properly and in moderate amounts. If you use too much too frequently, it could eventually cause corrosion in your gutters. Rock salt will harm your gutters, though.
