"We had Sam, Bradley, and Mason assist us with a move from one part of King County to the other. They were kind, patient, professional, adhered to CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and made our experience much more pleasant. Moreover, Emma also helped us locate crating and packing materials for the move."

"I am so grateful to have found this company for our move from Sedalia to Branson. The men were so polite and cheerful. It was a cold day, but that did not stop them. My husband and I made a bet as to how long it would take them to load the truck, and I lost that bet. They were done long before my estimated time, and I had to buy him dinner! The move went quite smoothly, as they carefully wrapped our things. I can’t say enough about how they worked together. Another plus is that Serenity was about one half the price of the other mover I contacted, and much better than we could imagine. Thank you for your service!"

Small jobs welcome

"The owner of the company came out to do a walk through in my place. Explained what I needed done & when. Very nice and asked good questions. Two movers showed up on time. Very friendly. However I had asked the owner for the movers to pack my kitchen (which wasnâ t on the paperwork). The lead mover (Joe) was excellent and sent word more help was needed. Earl, the second mover was very friendly too and moved my pre-packed boxes to the room indicated on the box. 4 more movers showed up to help and they basically moved boxes in with no regard to which room. Ended up with kitchen stuff in bathroom, and closets jammed with stuff. Not good! The extra movers were not happy, and the quality of work reflected it. Joe & Earl (the guys who arrived first) were fantastic. Assessment of a move needs MUCH improvement."

Moving questions, answered by experts

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, mobile homes built before 1976 do not meet the current safety standards and shouldn’t be moved even a short distance.

It’s typically not advisable to move heavy furniture by yourself. However, if you are confident that you can do it safely, there are several different tools you can use, including a hand truck, a four-wheel dolly, or an appliance dolly. If you’re moving furniture upstairs or downstairs, a hand truck is the most suitable choice. Regardless of what you choose to use, always ensure that the furniture is well-balanced and secure by using lifting straps or tie-down straps to keep it in place.

Yes, it’s possible, but it’s important to be extremely careful, and always remove rocks and heavier hardscape items. Drain all the water from the tank, leaving just enough to keep the gravel slightly submerged to keep your bacteria alive. Then, grab a helper or two and carefully lift the tank from either side, supporting the bottom and keeping it level. If the tank is especially heavy, consider slipping plywood underneath to minimize pressure on the glass. Be sure to pack it so it stays level and doesn’t shift during transit.

Moving insurance helps protect your belongings from damage or loss during the moving process. This policy can help reimburse you either part of or the total amount of your belongings that become damaged during the moving process. Moving insurance has three main options: full value protection, released value protection, and third-party or separate liability coverage. Speak with your moving company to determine what is covered under each policy and their cost to determine the best fit for your needs.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.
