We are a veteran owned and operated business specializing in home remodel and repair. The owner has over 20 years of experience in the construction field . We are a small company that typically employs two to three personnel. We also work with sub-contractors when the job requirements are outside our trade capabilities or to be timely in completing large projects. Typically, small projects are completed then paid in full upon customer approval of the work. Larger projects require a minimum of half payment to start work in order to cover high material costs. We are bonded for the customer's protection. On some occasions, when material costs are particularly high, a deposit of more than half may be required. Small projects will incur a service call fee of $30. If the project takes only a few minutes, there may be no further charge for work completed. We are always glad to visit and discuss your project ideas free of charge. We have a wide variety of samples, color charts and pictures to help our customer's visualize potential ways to meet their home improvement goals.

Closets questions, answered by experts

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

Bedrooms and living rooms generally cost the least to remodel. Of course, the project price will depend on what you're planning to do to the space and the cost of the materials you choose to incorporate. Prices are typically lower than those of other remodels because major plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work isn't often part of remodeling these rooms.

You can design your own closet, but it’s usually better to hire a professional to do the work for you. Not only will you get years of design experience to guide you toward the right layout and material choices, but you’ll also only pay slightly more hiring a professional than you would creating your own plans and hiring a carpenter. A high-quality closet designer can provide insight into how to lay out your closet, and they may be able to find you a good deal on the carpentry or complete the work using an affordable, in-house team.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.

Fortunately, there are no hard and fast rules or regulations regarding the height of closet shelving. However, the typical height for a single closet shelf with a hanging bar is 70 inches from the floor. For a double-hanging system, use 84 to 85 inches from the floor for the top one and 42 inches for the lower.
