"This company does it ALL! When we called to get a quote on few projects around our house we found out all other extra things they do. I was so impressed by the professionalism and quality work they do. We got our house waterproofed (had a private pool on the side of our house), few drains installed in ground, mudjacking (lifted our driveway and steps) and fixed our sump pump to drain correctly and more. "I started looking for remodeling companies at the remodeling show several months before I met with companies to discuss price, etc. Frankly, I walked past the Young Remodeling booth because it was so beautiful that I assumed it would be too expensive. However, after checking the ratings on Angie's List, I decided to get a bid from Young. They were the fourth of four contractors I to bid on the job. When I got their bid, I told Randy that they came in 2-3 thousand higher than anyone else. The net day, he called me back and said that the owner, Paul Young would like to meet with me. Paul and Randy came out and looked at the bathroom. Then Paul and I discussed what I envisioned for the bathroom. He said that they could come very close to what the others had bid. Later, when I was discussing the options with my husband, I realized that Young was the only company that was going to take out all of the walls, floor, and ceiling, not just those in the tub/shower area. With the other contractors, I was going to have to remove the wallpaper myself. The folks at Young told me not to bother removing the wallpaper since they would be tearing out the walls and using waterproof backer board throughout the entire bathroom. They also were the only ones to bid a new window rather than re-use the old one. In addition, the other contractors said it would be a problem to move the toilet, but Young suggested we move it in order to increase the size of the shower. They told me that moving the stool was no problem at all. In addition to all of the above, Paul Young held my hand through the entire process. He gave me sound design advice, then went with me to pick out everything. He even told me when items I chose would exceed my budget. When I chose a counter top and shower door that would increase the cost, he asked me several times if I was sure I wanted to incur the increased cost. He held my deposit check until he felt certain that I was certain about the increase. I appreciated his concern and patience. The project took a little longer than anticipated, but that was because I pushed them to start sooner than planned and therefore, the custom items weren't quite ready. It was well worth the wait. The quality of the work done in the bathroom is phenomenal. The tile work is gorgeous, and the custom vanity exceeded expectations. When I changed my mind in mid project about the placement of the grab bars which had already been installed, it was no big deal to them even though the change required extra sheet rock work. I added a minor change to the project which also increased the total cost. The addition was to install a comfort height toilet and grab bars in my 1/2 bath on the main level of the house. Now both of the bathrooms my mother uses are safe as well as beautiful.

"It took me several months to get Phil scheduled and rescheduled, including a lot of chasing by me. When he came to do the job he was supposed to be accompanied by a second person, but was not. This limited the work he could do because 2 people were needed. Therefore, the job stretched out over a few days. During the work, my garage floor was covered in spots of plaster and paint. Inside the house there was drywall splatter and drops from the main bathroom across my entire kitchen and living room, up the stairs, down the hallway into the other room that needed work. No tarps were used throughout the house except on the stairs and in the rooms (but there was still significant clean up there because the tarps did not cover it all). The clean up was twice a day for a couple days and by me. He said he could clean up, but "would I rather pay him to do the work or clean up." The job was paid by time. In addition, there are lots of blue tape particles stuck in the ceiling paint along the wall line that leaves a blue tint to the walls in both rooms. There was also two gashes left in the bathroom wall (made by a box knife) that he did not tell me about. When I pointed it out, he said he must have done it when he fell off the ladder. He did put some putty in it right before he left. I am happy with the end product, both ceilings look good, but overall I felt he was not professional including the difficulties in getting him scheduled (3 months) adding in the clean up I had to do; the ranking is fair. I have used other contractors who took a lot of care in respecting my property and my time who did not cost a much as he did."

"I originally bought a $99 coupon for services which I intended to use for exterior home maintenance -- replacement of damaged smartboard siding on my house.  When the salesman arrived to view the project, he spent quite a lot of time (probably over an hour) trying to upsell me on windows for my home -- for thousands of dollars.  I was not interested in windows and found someone else to replace the smartboard (he seemed not interested in doing that job -- too interested in windows).  I called back to reschedule the coupon to be used for ceiling fan installation.  The coupon said it was good for 4 hours and that $47/hour would be charged after that.  The 2 ceiling fans were installed and he attempted to install a light kit for another ceiling fan -- this wouldn't work because of the way the ceiling fan was wired, so this part of the job was not done.  Somehow, all of this took 5 hours, so I ended up paying an additional $47 for the installation of 2 ceiling fans.
