"I hired KL Nelson to install tile in my kitchen. The service I received was far from professional. Just about every tile is uneven and all of the grout work is either cracking or nonexistent. Not only was the install terrible, but the amount of damage this guy did to my house is unforgiveable. Every wall, cabinet, and piece of trim has either grout or mortar hardened on it. This guy is less expensive than his competition, but he will cause you thousands of dollars in repairs! DO NOT give this guy your business!"

Nearly 30 years ago, my father, Greg Pfleiderer, began Pfleiderer and Sons Flooring. For over 20 years, I have had the pleasure of working with him. In 2015, my father retired, and I have continued his business in West-Central Missouri. We provide floor installation for carpet, vinyl, hardwood, and the recently-popular lock-together flooring. While I sub-contract with Integrity Floors in Clinton, MO, I am will to provide estimates and services outside of Integrity Floors, if requested.

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You may damage the waterproofing sealant if you try to just remove a small number of bathroom tiles for a repair job. However, if you’re removing all the tiles on the walls or floor, you can redo the waterproofing when installing new tile. To minimize risk of water damage for replacing just a small amount of tiles, you’ll need to apply sealant and reapply it every six months to two years.

Professionals remove scratches, stains, and etching, restoring the stone’s natural shine and extending its lifespan.

Since marble is a porous material, it is more prone to water spots than other countertop options. Fortunately, pure water doesn’t damage your marble, but if the water is acidic, it can cause stains or water spots. Resealing throughout the year can help increase marble’s water resistance, too.

The extent of the damage will determine whether a broken tile can be fixed without replacing it. For example, epoxy and paint can repair small cracks or chips without replacing the tile. This also assumes that there are no underlying problems, like water damage.

Porcelain countertops are slightly more affordable than quartz. Most quartz countertops cost $50 to $200 per square foot, whereas porcelain typically costs $50 to $70 per square foot. However, lower quality builder’s grade quartz is similar in price to porcelain. This type of quartz contains more resin and fillers, making it less vibrant.
