"I hired Ozark painting to do the interior of my home. It is a man and wife with the daughter helping out periodically. They would show up around 9:30-10:00am and be gone by 1:30-2:00pm each day because they had to pick the grandkids up at school. It was very hard to get a full day's work out of them. A project that should have taken about a week turned into a 2.5 week project. I had to sleep with no drapes for more than week. After the completion of the project the owner wanted his money, but it took another 4 weeks for him to come back and do the final walk through. And then there was one particular spot that was never corrected to my satisfaction. Ben likes to use flat paint so he can cover the old paint in one coat. I wanted semi gloss so it would be easier to clean. Fortunately for me the paint guy at the store messed up and gave us a bit of flat and semi gloss making it more of a satin finish. It took 2 coats so maybe that is why it took longer. Also, the invoices say the estimate includes all materials needed for the job, but he charged me for the paint."

"Duraplex installed a metal roof on my house and barn. It came out great and i was very happy with the outcome. The owner and the crew are very professional and punctual. They also made sure to clean up after the work. I would recommend this company to my family and friends!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

What goes under your floating deck depends on your preferences. Some homeowners put landscaping fabric underneath their decks to prevent weeds from popping up through the boards. Others choose to build a floating deck over grass or gravel. However, it’s best not to set your deck directly on the ground. Instead, set your deck on blocks to keep it elevated enough to prevent moisture from rotting the wood.

Yes, an elevated deck can increase a home's resale value. Homeowners can expect a 65% return on investment from the cost of a second-story deck installation. For example, if you spend $5,000 to install a second-story deck, that deck will add $3,250 to the value of your home.

Homeowners should build their floating decks at least 18 inches off the ground. Having it at this height will allow for better airflow underneath and help prevent moisture-related problems like warping or rot. That being said, local guidelines for deck heights may vary depending on where you live.

Both aluminum and composite decking materials are environmentally friendly, with aluminum decking coming in as the most eco-friendly option.

Though composite decking helps remove plastics from landfills, recycles wood, and lasts longer than traditional wood decks, it’s not recyclable and only lasts for 25 to 30 years on average. Aluminum can last well over 30 years and is almost always recyclable.

The average cost to professionally clean or pressure wash a deck is around $150, with prices typically ranging from $100 to $600. Several factors influence the final price, including the deck's size, material, condition, and how long it has been since its last cleaning. For a smaller deck of about 300 square feet, you might pay around $100. For a larger deck of 1,000 square feet or more, the cost could be closer to $300 to $400. Decks that are very dirty or haven't been cleaned in years may require more time and special detergents, which will increase the price. The deck's material also plays a role. Wood decks often cost more to clean because they require a gentle power washing technique to avoid damage. Composite decks are typically less expensive to clean, and cleaning a metal deck may cost around $100.
