"The workmanship appears excellent and it was built per plan. I asked for a small change in the steps and they did it without complaint and in a timely manner. The builders were punctual and pleasant to work with. Their price was not the highest or the lowest, but I never go with the lowest bid."
"We had Garden Structures & More add onto the beautiful privacy fence they had previously built for us, and we couldn't be happier with the final result. Our new and improved fence is even better than we had envisioned due to owner/designer/craftsman Hal's excellent ideas. All work was completed in a timely and professional manner. We truly enjoyed working with Hal and wouldn't hesitate to have him do our next home project. "
"I own a condo about 90 minutes from my home and wasn't able to come up in person to deal with a deck in need of repair. Curt and his team were open to handling this by phone and email and did an excellent job explaining what we needed to do, quoted a competitive rate, and took care of the job quickly and professionally. I received word from other tenants in the condo building that the Heartland team was super professional and they were wowed by our awesome new deck. When I went up to see it and pay for the finished job, I was floored by how fantastic it looked. They even took care of a drainage system so the lady downstairs can use her patio without water pouring down when it rains. The deck looks wonderful, feels so stable and secure, and I'm incredibly pleased. If only they were also available for deck work where I live in Rochester! They're highly recommended. Awesome awesome experience."
"Allen was punctual and very detailed in what he could or could not do and what problems might be uncovered as he went along. His quote was very detailed and well laid out. He regrouted the full bath and it looks wonderful. While tearing out the grout in the 3/4 bath shower he found a problem with the drain pan which would need to be replaced and had to leave the job as is as this is not something he does. He was very neat as well, laying out rugs all the way to the bathrooms so as not to get the carpets dirty. There was no mess left behind, he even left old tiles in a neat pile in the garage."

"Really can't say enough good things about my experience with Cady Handyman Services. After reading about them on Angie's List, I contacted the company via email and received a quick reply. Tom came out to give me a quote on the job and was professional and thorough, while also being friendly and helpful. He took pictures and was nice enough to do a little patching even before they got the job. Jim the owner was extremely helpful as he worked along with my insurance company behind the scenes.
After all systems were go for the job, the work was scheduled within a couple of days. Tom came out with a young helper, Danny, and I felt comfortable around both of them. The materials they used were high quality, and they were willing to spend the time necessary to do the job right. They completed the work for the price they quoted, even though it took longer than expected because of some problems with the way my original door had been installed. They were more than willing to help with a couple of little odds and ends I needed. Afterwards, they cleaned up thoroughly and put everything together much better than it was before.
I have already recommended Cady to my friends, several of whom are single ladies who need help with a variety of jobs around the house. I plan to have them build some shelving in my garage and in a closet.
I see them as trustworthy, reliable, and conscientious. They take pride in their work and are fun to be around."
"In 2015, Greene installed an egress window. I was very happy with their work and their company. In 2016, I got their bid to install new storm windows on my house. They also measured and gave me a bid to put new siding on my garage, even though I had only mentioned this in passing and I told them I was not ready to have that done for another year or two. After waiting several months, into the cold weather, without hearing anything about my storm windows, I inquired and got a short, curt email back saying the company was over booked and under staffed and they would not be able to install my storm windows, and that I should get a handyman. Needless to say, I am having to go through another window with my old, non-functioning storm windows."
"The siding quote was the lowest of three that had been obtained despite the fact that the materials quoted probably were the best of those in the three quotes. I enjoyed working with the sales person and with the crew. The entire installation process took about 1.5 weeks. All work was performed as scheduled, e.g. the dumpster arrived as scheduled and was removed as scheduled. Appropriate clean-up work was done at the end of each day. The crew was allowed to store many of their tools in the garage and allowed to use the home bathroom (they put down drop cloths to prevent tracking). Work was done with precision and pride. Unusual situations discovered such as the need for foam sealing of a gap between the house wall and foundation exterior was done at no extra charge. I am an "expert" do-it-yourself person, and their work met my high standards. After completion of the installation, the building inspector asked me who had done the work. I asked why he had asked. He said the siding installation was one of the best that he has seen. "
"3 weeks from start to finish. Demolished old garage. We were unable to get a permit from the city for this project so Five Star negotiated back and forth for us and finally got a yes for the project to go forward. We had given up. This company has also gone the exta mile talking with concerned neighbors and even bringing in top grade black dirt for us to make a garden where the old garage used to sit. This was our 8th project with this company and would use them again. We've passed their name on to friends and neighbors who also have used them. They're great. Humerous too."
If you can’t repair and repurpose your shed, it might be possible to sell it, donate it, or salvage parts rather than them just ending up in a landfill. Professional junk removal services will advise you on what can and will be recycled. You may also want to keep some parts to upcycle them for other projects around your home. Turning planks from your memory-filled wooden shed into a coffee table or bed headboard is good for the environment and the soul.
The time it takes to build a shed heavily depends on the type of shed you buy. A prefab shed can be built in 4 to 8 hours, while a custom shed will be built off-site over the span of 2 to 5 days. It then takes a few hours, depending on the location, to move the finished shed to its final location.
Your foundation contractor will first need to remove the topsoil and any vegetation within 4 feet of the area around the barn. They’ll need to ensure they have clear access to the site to begin excavation, after which they can begin construction.
Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.
This answer varies based on where you are, but most states require that all homes are greater than 320 square feet. Remember that four walls are not the only requirements—windows, closet space, minimal ceiling heights, and indoor air quality are also factors. Each state and municipality differs, though, and as some don’t consider tiny homes permanent shelters, you’ll need to check to ensure you aren’t violating any local or state laws with your build.
