"Fantastic service, Greydon showed up on time and was very professional. On top of being professional he was very personable and easy going. Greydon took the time to explain things in depth and even show me the sewer pipe. Being a new home owner it made me feel at ease with someone so knowledgeable showing me and telling me about my sewer. 10/10 will hire integrity sewer solutions again!"

"We not only contracted Eric Stone to install a new water heater, but to also move and install a new well pressure tank, which was failing, from under our manufactured home, to an inside storage closet location, and then re-pipe our home water supply from the new inside location of the pressure tank to the newly installed water heater. When I first met Eric for an initial bid, I felt very confident in the fact that I had chosen the right plumbing contractor for our project, and his knowledge and expertise plus his likeable demeanor did not let me down. Eric's bid was fair and complete, he and his crew showed up on the agreed date and time, and his crew of two additional plumbing techs, Ethan and Hunter, were very knowledgeable, courteous, and just all around good guys and a delight to have them working my home. The finished product of the installation was exactly what I had envisioned, and the work area was cleaned up on completion. Needless to say I am thrilled to death with Eric's work and would highly recommend his company to anyone contemplating a like project."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Ejector pumps can only push sewage 750 feet or less. That’s because their purpose is to move waste from your home to your sewer line—which is a relatively short distance. Grinder pumps can transport sewage further, but they manage lower volumes of waste than ejector pumps (and they don’t work with septic systems).

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

One way to save money on sewer lines is to install a sewer cleanout since it makes sewer line maintenance easier. Keeping up with maintenance is key to reducing the cost of repairs, so be sure to schedule annual plumbing inspections, install drain guards to stop objects from accidentally falling down drains, and only flush human waste and toilet paper to protect your pipes.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.
