"very poor work quality, I had to have them come back 3 times after the initial installation to repair damages and fix the shoddy workmanship to get the roof right and it still hasn't passed Inspection. On top of that on three other occasions they were scheduled to be there and they just didnt show up at all. They left trash in my yard and in my driveway causing a flat tire on my car due to nails left all over the driveway. I even found missing shingles on a newly installed roof, how does that happen? I also found out after the fact they were TWICE as expensive as their competitors. I called 3 different contractors after getting their final bill and found this out. Twice the price for shoddy work? I'm just glad I was able to get up on the roof and check the quality of the work and demand they corrected it. My recommendation, hire someone else. There are so many other capable company's out there. You dont need to waste your time with this one. It's not worth it."

When installed and maintained properly, a cedar shake roof should last up to 60 years. Severe weather and high winds will damage your roof, reducing its life span. Expect a shorter life span if the roofer didn't use top-grade material, didn’t have cedar shake expertise, didn’t create the proper ventilation, or didn’t use the correct fasteners. The most common slope range for roofs on houses in snowy areas is between 4/12 and 6/12, or 50%. A roof with a slope of less than 10%, or roughly a 2/12 pitch, won’t be effective at shedding snow. Roof raking can damage shingles if improperly done. Be sure to use a rake that’s designed specifically for removing snow from a roof, and don’t use excessive pressure. Light, consistent pressure to pull down the bulk of the snow is all that’s needed—if you clear right down to the shingles, you’re probably using too much force and risking roof damage.
