Customers say: Quick response

"Extremely happy! Keith and Leah are friendly and very professional. They made sure I understood what I would be getting and what it would cost through spring cleanup, summer maintenance, and fall cleanup. Very reasonable! They're thorough, they work quickly, and they take care of everything. They even have professionals who can fix the outdoor plumbing and sprinkling system. I had an unusual amount of work that needed to be done, and because they were running behind due to recent weather, they weren't sure if they could fit me in until the following week... But they came the next morning, on the way to another job. What a happy surprise. They spiffed everything up, and will be back to thatch out the lawn and start eliminating the weeds. This will be a long, great relationship. I feel very good about it, lucky that I found them."

"Our pro did a wonderful job. My husband has been ill most of the spring so the yard had not been taken care of at all. Our pro came verified what we needed done and went to work. We are so happy with him and his work ethic."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Water the lawn thoroughly, apply fertilizer, and overseed if necessary to promote healthy growth.

Glyphosate and other non-selective herbicides can kill orchard grass, but they will also kill the surrounding plants. Also, not all areas allow the use of glyphosate due to its environmental impact—which the EPA describes as a "potential risk to terrestrial and aquatic plants and birds, and low toxicity to honeybees." Consider mechanical removal to target the plants specifically.

The best time to fight crabgrass with pre-emergent herbicide is when forsythias tend to bloom. In the mid-Atlantic region, this is usually between April and May. Even if you're late to apply the herbicide, it’s effective as long as the crabgrass plant has fewer than five leaves.

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.

Foxtail self-seeds and dispurses them among other grasses and pastures. The seeds can spread by wind and by attaching themselves to animals and humans. Seeds will germinate in their new location and become a new plant, which continues the spread of foxtail. Unfortunately, foxtail spreads easily, making it difficult to remove unless it’s caught quickly.
