"Requested a quote and Justin texted quickly, asking to see a pic inside one of our returns. Stated that the ducts looked clean and advised how to check the furnace to see if it's been done before. Lo and behold, found a sticker on the furnace indicating a duct cleaning had been completed recently by the previous owners. "They went the extra mile – again and again and again – and for no extra cost. Their commitment to finding and solving the problem was genuine and dogged – far past the point you would expect or even hope for. And although the problem was difficult, frustrating, and time-consuming to diagnose, they never wavered in their commitment to finding and fixing it. Our central air conditioning system had failed, and we contracted with Burnsville Heating & Air Conditioning to install a new one, which included an exterior compressor/condenser unit and an interior evaporator coil. After the install, when they could not get the proper readings on refrigerant pressure, they tried everything that they or the manufacturer of the system could think of. When none of that worked, they went to bat for us with the manufacturer, and replaced the new exterior unit. When the readings were still not right, they also replaced the new interior unit. When the problem persisted, they blew out the copper tubing lines that circulate the refrigerant between the interior and exterior units. When that didn’t work, they entered the crawl-space-like “attic” of our townhome to inspect the refrigerant lines. And that is when they found that the 5/8” diameter line, after it left the attic to go behind the exterior siding of our home, had been twisted, squeezed, and flattened into a narrow slit that measured from 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch – severely choking the movement of refrigerant. How and when did this happen? The only possibility we could come up with was that the siding on all the townhomes in our association had been replaced a few years ago, and there had been complaints about the visible quality of the work. The manner in which our copper refrigerant tubing was twisted was so extreme, according to the person who found it, that it appeared as if someone had grabbed onto it to break a fall. At this point, as at several previous points, Burnsville Heating & Air Conditioning easily and justifiably could have said, “It’s not our problem,” and washed their hands of the matter. Especially since replacing the refrigerant line behind the siding would have required removing all the siding from an exterior wall that included our neighbor’s AC controls, our association’s underground irrigation system controls, and our AC controls. But they were as dedicated to finishing the job as we were to having it finished. So they solved the problem by running a new exterior line vertically up to meet the intact interior section of the line, and adding housing for the exterior line that matched our home’s exterior trim . In sum, they went beyond what normally would have been about a 3-hour job, and stuck with it for 3 weeks, even though the problem turned out to be something that predated their involvement. They devoted six of their people and repeated visits to solve a problem not of their making. And they did this all at no extra cost, billing us only for the initial installation. Over the past 40 years we have owned 6 homes in 3 states, and have never seen anything remotely like the dedication to customer satisfaction exhibited by Burnsville Heating & Air Conditioning. "I had the dryer vent cleaned 7 months ago by another company. It was clogged again. It is a rooftop vent. The other company only used an air hose to blow out lint from the roof. Dan cleaned the vent from the dryer up through the roof vent. There was a screen in the vent that should not have been left in there when installed, and Dan removed it. He did a thorough cleaning and put everything back in place. It is a small laundry area, so he had to move the washer to pull the dryer out. He did a great job.show more
