This year I just transitioned to an LLC, and have been devoting my time and effort to making it a success. I am an Army veteran, and was in the process of reenlisting when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Which has caused me to look for other ways to help people. Yes, it’s a good idea to use paint primer on your brick fireplace before painting it. Brick is highly absorbent, so your first few coats of paint will likely seep into the surface of your fireplace, allowing the natural color of the brick to seep through. To avoid this, you’ll want to use one or two coats of primer, followed by the topcoat. 

For information on how long it will take for paint to dry on a metal roof, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically it will take a few hours to dry but may need to be left for up to 24 hours to cure fully—but up to 10 days is better yet.

Paint your accent wall last after painting the other walls in the room. This will prevent color bleed and splatter from the adjacent walls. Be sure to give your other walls plenty of time to fully dry and cure before painting your accent wall—you don’t want the tape to pull off fresh paint when you remove it.

Many people choose to paint the walls first for a few reasons. First, it can provide a sense of accomplishment and motivation to tackle the rest of the room. Second, starting with the walls allows for more forgiveness of small mistakes. You can paint right up to the edge of the trim and easily cover up any accidental paint drops later. On the other hand, if you start with the trim, you need to be more precise to avoid any splatters on the walls.

Glossy-sheened paints work best in rooms where moisture and humidity are factors. Satin and semi-gloss paints do not absorb moisture like other types of paints due to their hard finish. These paints are also easier to clean.
