"1) 4/24/23 - DeGain visited our house to inspect our areas of concern and all the brickwork on the house. Note-brickwork was only on the lower part of the house. Our primary concern was the brickwork facing the front porch, which was the area I first pointed out to Degain.. 2) 4/25/23 - Degain mails an invoice. Item 01 of the invoice is for "Repointing Loose Brick An Holes" for $350. Other items were on the invoice, but they are not in dispute. 3) 4/26/23 - I told DeGain to proceed with the work on the invoice. 4) 5/16/23 - Since we were out of town, DeGain texts me to advise me that all the work was completed. 5) 5/16/23 - I voluntarily sent a check to DeGain for the brickwork, power washes, and poly sand, since I would not return home until 5/26/23 and did not want DeGain to wait for compensation for completed work. 6) 5/26/23 - I returned home an inspected the work completed by DeGain and discovered that the brickwork facing on the porch was not completed. 7) 5/16/23- I took a picture of the uncompleted brickwork facing the front porch and asked DeGain to schedule a date to complete the work. 8) 5/31/23 - DeGain texted back an asks if a 7/17/23 would work and I agree with the date. 9) 7/16/23 - Since were out of town again I texted DeGain to verify that Degain was going to complete the work and giving instructions on how to access our outside water. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 10) 7/29/23 - We return home and find that the brickwork was still not completed. A text was sent to DeGain to complete the work as soon as possible. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 11) 8/4/23 - I asked DeGain of $250 for the unfinished work. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN 12) 8/11/23 - I sent a text to the DeGain and advised him that I have no choice but to refer the matter to Angi's. NO RESPOSE FROM DEGAIN 13) 8/12/23 - I ask Degain if they intend tomrespond. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 14) 9/3/23 - I sent DeGain a partial chronology and advise him that ifwe don't settle this issue quickly, then I will take all necessary steps to resolve this issue. 15) 9/3/23 - DeGain finally responds asking why I'm so upset. He also says that the word "porch" was not on the invoice and therefore he had completed the brick work by repairing i the three bricks for $350. 16) I responded to DeGain that a) He visually inspected the brick work on the front porch and agreed that it needed repair, before the invoice was created. b) I did not ask him to work on the cement front porch, which needed no repair. Rather he was to do "Repointing, Loose brick, An Holes the vast majority was on the bricks facing the front porch. c) If DeGain believed that the brick work facing the front porch was not included, then why did Degain agree to complete the work on 7/16/23, based on a picture of the uncompleted work on the bricks facing the front porch. d) If the brick work facing the front porch was not included a price of $350 to replace the three bricks not facing the front porch is totally unreasonable. NO RESPONSE FROM DEGAIN. 9/7/23 - I contacted Angi's to get an understanding of the Appeal process, but did not file a formal complaint to see if I can resolve the issue with DeGain. 9/14/23 - I sent an email to DeGain advising them that I have contacted Angi's and made one final offer to resolve the issue. NO REPSONSE FROM DEGAIN 10/4/23 - Filed formal complaint with Angi's. Please note that I have the following: 1) A summary chronology with key pictures, documents, etc. 2) A detailed chronology which lists every written interaction with Degain, 3)Hard copies of emails, text screen shots, etc. to substantiate almost all elements o he chronologies. Please let me know where to send them if necessary. Please note that the ratings below are for the brickwork that was never completed only."

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:
Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris
Help prevent chimney fires
Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture
Maintain your chimney flue liner
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
