If the gate is higher than the fence, it just looks weird. Gates allow for increased security and aesthetics, so ensure the gate rests at the same height as the fence.

If increased security is your bag, you may want to steer away from a simple wood gate. After all, it’s pretty easy to cut through wood. Instead, go for a metal gate with an advanced locking system. Even better? Install a high-tech automated barrier system similar to those found at commercial facilities. However, you’ll pay handsomely for the privilege.
