"I left a request online for having my area rugs cleaned. Feldpausch Services responded immediately and arranged to come for an inspection the next day. I was pleased to learn that they would take the rugs out to be cleaned and that would clean for odor if they found it necessary as I have 5 pets. They removed the six rugs before they left and took them with them which gave me a chance to get my oak floors properly cleaned. The rugs were removed on Tuesday and returned Thursday afternoon - the cleaning for pet odor was largely unnecessary. The workman put the two larger rugs in place as I felt I could handle the others. I was very happy to see that the oldest rug which I bought 14 years ago looked essentially new. All of the rugs were returned clean, in good condition and free of odor. Because concrete is porous, installing flooring directly onto the surface is not a good idea. Any moisture within the concrete due to atmospheric conditions or seasonal humidity can seep into your flooring, causing warping or damage. Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.

Removing laminate flooring is fairly straightforward compared to removing other types of flooring. The planks click and lock into place, so you can pry them loose without much fuss. If you plan to reuse your flooring, you must be careful not to damage the plank or the locking mechanism that keeps it in place. If it’s in good condition, you can reuse it in another room.

Transition strips are often called seam binders as they bridge the gap between two floor types. They are common between carpeting and hardwood or wood and tile. Transition strips prevent trips and falls and make the transition from each room appear seamless. They are also often used to even out height differences between floors.

You can expect your carpet protection to last about six months to two years. It will last longer in low-traffic areas (compared to busy areas, where your carpet experiences more wear and tear). Once the protector wears off, you’ll need to call your carpet contractor to reapply the stain protection treatment and revive your carpet.
