"Reviva Upholstery were easy and flexible to work with during the entire process. They went out of their way to make sure that I could pick up the chair when it was most convenient for me. They did solid, reliable work on my mid-century rocking chair. The cost was fair and reasonable! I will contact them again!"

"They are a nice provider. I talked to them on the phone for about 30 minutes and they sent some samples. We were able to get a discount on designer purchases but not useful on designing the space. Once we told them what we wanted, they were able to help purchase from the warehouse and save about $1,500. I think they became too busy with this big deal. You buy a ticket per room and we still actually have a couple left with this provider. After redesigning one room, we kind of ran out of steam and have not designed the other rooms. Overall this is a good service and it's a good concept. Whomever I spoke with, she was really nice. I would recommend this provider. This kind of service seems to be for people with time and knows exactly what they want. They are super helpful with the designer discount from the warehouse. They don't actual design your room which is slight flaw."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

In Lowell, living rooms and basement rec spaces are closely evaluated during upholstering projects due to heavy use and exposure to Michigan’s damp winters. Homeowners often focus on heirloom dining sets and sunrooms, where fabric can fade or mildew. Inspecting the integrity of older hardwood frames, especially in farmhouses or historic homes, is a unique local priority to ensure lasting results.

Helpful?

Upholstering work in a Lowell home helps combat damage from Michigan’s changing seasons, such as moisture in basements and fading from sunlight. It’s especially useful for restoring vintage furniture, which is common in older Lowell homes. Reupholstering also improves indoor air quality by replacing allergen-trapping fabrics and extends the life of well-used pieces in busy family spaces.

Helpful?

For upholstering projects in Lowell, keep essentials like a vacuum with upholstery attachments, fabric protector spray, lint rollers, and a fabric brush for routine care. A seam ripper, sturdy sewing needles, extra batting or foam, and a reliable staple gun are helpful for repairs. A dehumidifier is useful for basement furniture, while leather conditioner and a steam cleaner help protect against Michigan’s fluctuating humidity and winter dryness.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Lowell often underestimate how Michigan’s weather can delay upholstery projects—winter storms may slow material delivery, while summer humidity can lengthen drying times for adhesives. The limited number of local upholstery shops means longer wait times for custom work. Additionally, many overlook the need for moisture-resistant treatments in basements and ensuring proper ventilation during adhesive application.

Helpful?

In MI, signs like persistent musty odors, moisture rings on upholstery, or fading on furniture near windows can indicate deeper problems such as mold or sun damage. If you notice loose joints after a cold snap, springs pushing through, or worsening sagging, these are early warnings. Addressing these issues quickly is important, especially before winter when repair schedules can fill up fast.
