"Twin Lakes Carpet and Floor Care arrived at 8:30 for the job which was scheduled at 9:00, so A+ for punctuality. Pat and his co-worker got busy vacuuming the carpets where needed before deep cleaning. They moved furnature where necessary, and picked up all small rugs and runners, cleaned, and took them outside to dry. The wood floors in the kitchen and dining room were cleaned, along with the tile in the foyer. We are very happy with the very professional services they provided and will use Twin Lakes again.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Just make sure you use the right cleaning tools and solutions. Avoid using harsh tools like scrub brushes or hard-bristled brooms. You should also skip cleaners that are highly acidic, including white vinegar.

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.
