"I plugged in a vacuum Sunday night and suddenly half my house had lost electricity.  I verified circuit breakers were appearing to operate correctly.  Monday morning at 8:30am I called D. Frey and Son Electrical.  He was at my house before 11am.  He checked circuit box and everything was fine.  Then, next step, he went out to the power meter and found a loose wire  from previous work that had been performed by a different heating and cooling company when repairing central A/C.  That wire had missing insulation and shorted.  He replaced about 3 inches of wire and we had electricity again!  No charges beyond the service call.  He was very responsive to our emergency timeline and pleasant to work with.  We also have requested a quote & agreed to have some other non-emergency work done by D. Frey and Son Electrical.  EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! Note relating to a prior Angie's List posting:  Part of what we requested a quote on was a ceiling fan that would require him to work in our attic.  He was very polite but said he has physical limitations that keep him from being able to go in the attic.  There was no surprise.  He no quoted that portion of the potential work.  I do not know the circumstances of the other poster, but his no quote of that portion of the work was reasonable to me.  We understood the limitation at the quote stage."

"So I bought two ceiling fans last summer, I started to install the first one ran into problems the mount did not line up, did not know how to fix, eventually put them in the closet. I looked on Angies list and found a near by A rated company with experience installing ceiling fans. I made the appointment at my convenience and at 9:00 A.M. this morning Scott and Miles arrived. You cannot be more on time than that! They got right to work, they knew what to do, removed the mud ring, alerted me to a a couple minor quality issues with the fans (2 missing thumb screws, 1 globe with an internal crack), cleaned up and were done in less than 2 hours. The fans work great. Outstanding punctuality, outstanding service, got the job done and off my list, and very affordable. I would absolutely hire Westborn Electric again, actually I would not try installing a ceiling fan again, I'd just hire them to do it."

"Len and  his partner worked on two different days and  arrived a few hours late on the first day but had the wrong phone number to contact me.  They were however able to complete the work that I needed to done very satisfactorily.  The did not have a tall enough ladder to install the ceiling fan but did return a few days later having rented an appropriate ladder from Home Depot.  Hanging the fan was clearly a two man job and they did a great job.  Although they did not have the proper ladder initially they were willing to get the rental and return to complete the install.  The ladder was huge and they had to transport carefully on their truck.  I appreciated their willingness to go the extra mile to complete the task.  They were friendly, professional and very accommodating.  I originally purchases the 3 hrs of 2 handymen services for $275 and paid an additional $175 for the fan install which included the rental of the extra tall ladder from Home Depot.  The job did take them an additional hour plus and was not an easy task.   I will definitely hire them again and referred them to my sister.

"I have used Express Handyman since fall 2009 a number of times and in total spent about $3,000. I had pretty good results with them up until fall 2010 when I hired them to perform a list of odd jobs around my house totaling about $1,200. The handyman who was sent to perform this work came a number of times to work on the above-listed projects. He was friendly, though not terribly professional. I had a number of problems resulting from his work. 1) The patch job he did on my ceiling was not done properly and was bumpy when it dried, 2) He got paint splatter on my walls, ceiling fan, and curtains when he painted the ceiling, 3) The caulk wasn't done neatly and began to pull away from the tub, 4) The grout began to crumble weeks after it was redone, and 5) the float in the toliet wasn't adjusted properly, resulting in the toliet overflowing and leaking into my kitchen. While the work was unsatisfactory, when I contacted Express Handyman about these problems, they came to my house right away to assess the problems. They agreed to fix everything and noted that the handyman who had performed the work was no longer with the company. While I have been pleased that they are fixing the work, it has involved a considerable amount of follow up on my part to have it finished. It has taken 4 visits and they are still not finished with the work. The second time they came, they were not prepared and didn't have the tools or mud needed to fix the drywall. I have had to call multiple times to have them come back out to finish the work, even though the handyman noted that they would contact me about setting up a time to return. Each time I call, I am told that they will get back to me with a time, but often I have to follow up a few days later as I don't receive a response. It has been nearly 2 weeks since they were last out at my house. I simply want the work finished. Overall I think that Express Handyman is good for small projects that can be completed in 1 day or a few hours and would use them again for this purpose. I probably won't use them for bigger projects or ones that cannot be completed in one trip as these haven't been successful and since the follow up is lacking. I also will not use them for any plumbing projects. There seems to be a break in communication between the office, the handymen, and the customers and this needs to be improved."

"Mr. Antonelli and his assistant arrived on time and went straight to work in an effort to complete the outside work before the rain started. Unfortunately, they had to work in the rain for 15-30 minutes to complete the job, and had no complaints. They installed the Offset Riser and replaced the ceiling fan in under two hours and cleaned up everything. Very professional."
