"Services: Unclog drain, Repair toilet, Repair pipe. // Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness // Haines was recommended to me saying they were good at their job. I called them Monday, Feb 15th about a clogged drain, they came out Tues Feb 16th at the time I was told they would be there, which was great! They were there from 3:30 pm to 6:50 pm. Some repairs had to be made to the laundry tub drain and my toilet had to be lifted so they could access that portion of the drain. After the toilet was replaced, the shut-off valve leaked, so I asked them to replace that also. The work that was done created quite a mess... BUT, when they were finished you would never know that. Everything was cleaned up so well and disinfected, it looked nice and smelled nice. The workmen were very professional and knowledgeable about their job. I will add this company to my contacts as a reliable source for repairs."
"Jonathan did me real solids today. Despite the fact that they were here to clean up bascially messes left by the installers on my HVAC on both AC and furnace, he AGAN went ABOVE and BEYOND when he noticed I was doing my own plumbing project. We had hot water seeping out with our water main shut off on a fixture exchange, and he pointed out we can drain the hot water heater partially to stop this. The last plumber didn't eve care to share this, or even do it. I will not go ANY OTHER PLACE than Service Professor for my plumbing, HVAC and electrical needs. PERIOD. No one else compares!"
"I was having new appliances delivered in a week and Steve from gas tech put a new gas line no problem. Very prompt and excellent job- so happy to have a gas stove😀. Very affordable- highly recommend"
"Bryan and his team were able to complete my water heater replacement with timing that met my needs, and high quality work. They also changed out two valves that were leaking on a connected water line for me (for an additional charge). Pelkey Services work was efficient, clean, and met my expectations. I would work with them again, and recommend them."
Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts
Rust-tinted water indicates advanced interior pipe corrosion, requiring a whole-house repipe. Slow drains across multiple fixtures point to tree root intrusion in your main sewer line. A continuously running sump pump signals a rising water table or foundation cracks. Sudden water pressure drops highlight failing valves or service line leaks. Address these warning signs immediately to prevent major structural damage or basement flooding in your Fenton home.
Helpful?
Hire licensed contractors who hold valid state credentials and carry proper liability insurance. Choose local professionals familiar with the Fenton permit process and inspection schedules to avoid project delays. Ensure your pro has proven experience handling local infrastructure challenges, including well-to-municipal conversions and galvanized pipe replacements. Prioritize contractors with a strong local presence to guarantee faster response times during severe winter freezes or unexpected emergencies.
Helpful?
Select freeze-resistant materials like PEX for water supply lines to withstand harsh Michigan winters. Use sump pit liners and discharge pipes rated for continuous outdoor exposure. Account for elevated groundwater hardness by choosing corrosion-resistant fixtures and fittings. Adhere to state laws by strictly avoiding any lead-containing solder or components. A licensed contractor will ensure all selected materials meet state code requirements for safe and reliable plumbing.
Helpful?
Determine if your home relies on municipal water or a private well and septic system, as this dictates your plumbing scope. Identify your pipe materials, especially in older homes that contain prone-to-fail galvanized steel or polybutylene piping. Verify your lead service line status with local authorities. Finally, assess your basement drainage configuration and note your proximity to MI lakes, which introduces specific environmental regulations for excavation.
Helpful?
When planning plumbing in Fenton, account for the 42-inch frost depth by burying exterior pipes deeply to prevent freeze damage. High water tables near local lakes demand properly sized sump pumps and basement drainage. Check if your property connects to a combined sewer system to determine backflow prevention requirements. Schedule outdoor winterization in the fall to avoid severe winter weather, and always secure necessary city permits before starting work.
