"Clay & Kristen are wonderful people to work with. They explained & discussed everything ahead of time before they started. Any concerns they addressed ahead of time. They truly live by their name they picked for there company. I have had alot of different drywall people over the years & none of them took the time to clean up & tape doorways off & blow the dust out the windows to keep the sanding drywall dust out of the rest of my home. And when they finished sanding they saw I had the primer there & surprised me & rolled it on. That was great. That just left me the paint to put on. Even though they went above & beyond by rolling on the primer they still stayed with the price they quoted me at the end. They would not take any money until the end. They want to make sure the customer is happy with the job. Very friendly people and I would definitely use them again. If you want drywall hung this is the company to go with. And one more thing. They are such hard workers they started my project Sept 1st labor day morning & was there at 8 am. So they didnt even take the holiday off. Thank you both so much. Stay safe."

As you look for the right soundproofing drywall for you, you’ll likely come across the Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating. This rating measures a building material’s ability to absorb sound. According to Energy Star, insulation in homes in the Southern United States should have an R-value of between R30 and R60 in attics and R13 to R25 in the floors and walls; homes in moderate climates require R values of R38 to R60 in attics and R25 to R30 in floors and walls; and homes in northern states require an R value of R49 to R60 in attics and R25 to R30 in floors and walls.

It is usually possible to install insulation yourself, but it’s often better to hire an insulation professional. An experienced insulation pro can determine which type of insulation is best for your space and the R-value get the most value and comfort in your home. Certain types of insulation can cause skin, eye, and lung irritation, and a professional will have the equipment necessary to keep themselves safe and limit the effect on your indoor air quality after the installation. Certain types of insulation—like blown-in and loose-fill insulation—demand a professional for proper functionality and safe installation.

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits.
