"They were very quick to respond when contacted through this site. They were able to schedule the inspection within 3 business days which was nice as I was expecting 1-2 weeks. Haven't received the results yet so no further services have been used but will definitely use them for the remediation should it come to that."

"Victors team is AMAZING!! We were incredibly pleased and impressed! Matthew and Jackson were prompt, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and very thorough. We were afraid we needed more insulation but they inspected us completely and found that our insulation was in great shape. They didn't try to sell us a thing! Imagine that! We loved them and would recommend them very highly to anyone who needs their service."

Small jobs welcome

"Ryan was a personal, professional to work with and was thorough with his findings. The inspection report was very organized and included lots of pictures with straight forward comments listed underneath. The reports were sent within a timely fashion and was delivered to us by the time he promised. He does not rush through the inspection and puts you, the customer, first. Ryan's expertise made our family feel safer when buying our first home and we would recommend him to anyone!"

"EverDry of South Bend waterproofed my basement over 20 years ago. I was extremely pleased with their work and professionalism. I was very glad we decided to go with EverDry and over the years I have recommended them to anyone that needed help with basement issues. To this day.. anytime I call, they are extremely helpful and provide excellent service. Their Customer Service is one of the best I have ever worked with.... I never worry that I am going to have an issue getting someone to listen to me. Whenever I call with a question regarding my basement they do not hesitate to send someone out to inspect it and I never feel like I am bothering them. Their work is of high quality and when they finish the work.. they clean up as if they were never at your home. After 22 years of dealing with EverDry, I believe they are the best to work with and I will always recommend them."

"Gray's did a fabulous job communicating with me. He contacted me within 2 hours to schedule my inspection and had me set up with an appointment the following day. He was very thorough and respectful of my situation. He had an attention to details and took many pictures. The final report was well put together, detailed, and included all pictures with explanations. Very professional service! I highly recommend them to anyone that need this type of inspection done."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Having cobwebs in your home indicates you may have an issue with spiders entering your property. While spiders are mostly harmless, some venomous bites can cause human problems, such as a brown recluse or black widow. Regular vacuuming and dusting, keeping clutter to a minimum, and keeping your lawn trimmed and tidy are a few natural ways to keep spiders out of your home and remove the temptations that attract spiders.

There are several signs that your house might have poor ventilation, including lingering odors, condensation on your windows, or mold and mildew. Your home may also feel stale and stuffy, or you might have trouble maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home. On top of that, you might develop allergy symptoms, such as sneezing, coughing, or headaches.

To determine if your house has dampers, inspect the ductwork for levers or handles, particularly near the main trunk line of your HVAC unit. Dampers are typically found in homes with ducted heating and cooling systems, but not all houses have them, as some builders may omit them to save on construction costs. If you cannot find any dampers or wish to have them installed, it is best to contact a local HVAC professional. While you can install them yourself, it may require significant work and could involve a partial air duct replacement, potentially costing $1,000 or more.

Whether or not to buy a home containing asbestos is ultimately a decision for the homebuyer, and there are several things to consider. When in good condition and contained, asbestos is unlikely to present a health risk—it’s when those tiny fibers are loose and airborne that they become a problem. Consider any renovations you plan on doing to the home that could disturb existing asbestos and the cost of removal. If an inspection finds asbestos in a home on the market, you could negotiate with the seller for a lower price, though this isn’t a sure thing.

There are no strict rules for who is responsible for covering repair costs after a home inspection, as the issue is highly negotiable, except in cases of mandatory repairs. Major issues discovered during the inspection often lead to a renegotiation. The buyer might ask the seller to make the repairs as a condition of the sale, but it is more common for the buyer to use the estimated repair costs as leverage to lower the asking price. The seller may agree to lower the price to compensate the buyer or agree to fix the issues before the sale is complete. However, in a competitive real estate market, a seller might refuse to cover any repairs, knowing that other buyers may be willing to purchase the property as-is.
