"I appreciated their professionalism and service. My usual guy dropped out and I needed sprinkler winterization to fit a specific time when I would be home in Portage. On short notice, all was taken care of perfectly the same day. Looking forward to more sprinkler work by Premier in the spring."

"I recently hired Tromblay Tree Trimming and Removal. I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the start, they were knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to answer all of my questions with professionalism and care. What really stood out was their efficiency—they completed the job three days earlier than expected, without sacrificing quality. The entire process was smooth, and their attention to detail exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Tromblay’s Tree Trimming and Removal Services to anyone looking for reliable, professional, and friendly service. I would absolutely hire them again."

"Druey Lyon did a fantastic job of trimming my two tall grass plants and clearing up the work area beautifully. I plan on having him come back this summer to do some hedge trimming. Well done."

Small jobs welcome

"Ben and his crew just finished a job at our home, taking water away from where it had entered our basement beneath an egress window by adding and rebuilding retaining walls, drains, gravel and a French drain He was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. His team was very efficient and professional. They started and finished the work right on time. They left our property looking much better than it did at the start, were extremely careful with any cables they encountered, fixed areas in the lawn that were affected by equipment, kept us updated on their progress daily, and kept to the price they quoted for the job. I would recommend them highly."

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

Another name for a lawn worker is a lawn maintenance or service professional. When shopping around for quotes at multiple lawn care companies, ask a representative for the preferred term their professionals use. That way, you can be sure to politely address the professionals when they service and care for your lawn.

Water your yard a little more deeply after a drought for about two weeks (while still avoiding overwatering). Continue to water in the early morning hours before 10 a.m. You'll also want to invest in some high-quality fertilizer to get more nutrients to your roots and help them grow back stronger and quicker. Look up your grass and soil type, or do a soil test, to see what type of fertilizer you need.

If you're already planning to hire an electrician and you know that you'll get billed the minimum call-out charge, you might as well make the most of it by having the contractor do another small job like replacing a light switch or electrical outlet. Even if you're paying for a new coaxial outlet, which costs several hours in labor, you may be able to save a little or maximize value by getting them to do other related jobs. For example, if you're having a coaxial cable moved, it's worth checking if you also need another electrical outlet in the new location or considering where else you would benefit from a new outlet . The cost to install an electrical outlet is around $200.

The growth of tall fescue grass often causes clumps of grass in your lawn. Avoid pulling up the clumps, as it won’t effectively remove them. Instead, dig out clumps and their roots when you notice them early in the growing season. Herbicides can also treat grass clumps, but they can also affect other plants you might not want to kill, so use them sparingly and always follow manufacturer instructions.

DIY home gardening can be relaxing, joyful, and cost-effective. From mowing your lawn to planting your own flower beds, there is a wide variety of gardening tasks that you can do yourself to make your yard look beautiful. If you’d rather spend your time not in the dirt, or if you’d like someone to take care of your plants for you, calling a professional gardening service is best. They can give you a workup of what services you’ll need and how often to schedule them.
