"Phil Thebolt does all the work himself. He gave us an accurate estimate of work to be done, cost and time to complete the project. He expertly demolished the surface and railings of the old deck, hauled away the old wood, and replaced the deck with composite decking and railings. He cleared the ground under the deck and placed landscaping fabric and stones for a weed-free finished appearance. He expanded part of the deck to make it larger, and installed two sets of stairs off the deck to the ground. When he finished the project, he power washed the deck so we have a beautiful new area to enjoy. He finished the project on time and on budget. He was very pleasant and kept us informed as to his progress. I loved the work and would positively call him again if we decide on another project."

"Jeff and his team worked did a great job replacing roof on my old house. They did a complete tear-off and re-shingle of house in just a couple of days. My only complaint would be that while they did have large tarps over the house to catch debris, I did have to clean up shingle scraps and nails around perimeter of house after project was complete."

"Gary and Brandon helped our shelter for homeless families in a way that will have impact for years to come. Our project was to replace old wooden beds with new metal ones. Gary was willing to be flexible with us as we needed to work the timing considering freight delivery - they unloaded 1400+ lbs! - and moving old beds, assembling new, and putting everything in place so that 6 families had a place to sleep that very night. And they even hauled away all the packing boxes - for an incredibly reasonable price. Very professional and tolerant - little kids here on spring break - and we will definitely call them for many other jobs."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

The cheapest material for covering a tennis court is rubber or clay. Rubber needs to be installed over a concrete or asphalt base, however, which can make the project more expensive up-front (but cheaper to resurface over time). Clay courts are among the most affordable, but they aren’t the best to play on and require a lot of maintenance.

Yes, you can replace just the fabric on an awning without having to replace the entire awning frame and hardware. This process will take a professional about one to two hours. If you want to DIY, it could take longer, especially for large or retractable awnings. Replacing the fabric on an awning can improve the look of your home and help naturally cool your interior and exterior spaces.

Hurricane fabric is a temporary form of hurricane protection that offers an alternative to boarding up windows or installing traditional storm panels. Unlike hurricane screens, which are permanently attached to your home, hurricane fabric is installed over your windows and other openings before a storm.

In terms of effectiveness, hurricane fabric is tested and proven to protect homes from Category 5 hurricanes, which can have winds over 157 miles per hour. When installed properly, it is designed to block the majority of wind and rain and protect against water, debris, and projectile damage.

While the fabric is exceptionally durable, windows can still break if hit directly by flying debris at high velocity. However, it is a good protective measure against an impending storm. For comparison, hurricane fabric is more protective and durable than hurricane window film. While boarding up windows is easier than installing the fabric, it is more labor-intensive and requires storing heavy plywood.

To further increase the chances of your windows surviving a hurricane, you can take additional steps like securing outdoor items, elevating HVAC units, and fortifying your home's foundation.

Durable materials suited for climate include aluminum for coastal areas or composite wood in varying environments for durability and minimal upkeep.

Costs range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on size, material, and design complexity.
