You can buy DIY mirror repair kits to carry out minor repairs on mirrors, but we don’t recommend it. Repairing and resilvering mirrors is a delicate process that involves caustic chemicals and demands a high level of precision for positive results. The materials will likely cost over $100, meaning you won’t be saving that much over hiring a professional. Plus, since mirror repair and resilvering are easy to mess up, you might pay more to hire a repair pro after your DIY attempt. As such, we recommend hiring a mirror repair expert from the start.

There is no blanket number when it comes to glass thickness for soundproofing. Thicker glass does help reduce noise, but it’s only part of the solution.
