Also I accidentally overpaid him and are still waiting for the refund."

Use fire bricks for a brick pizza oven. These bricks are typically used for fireplaces and chimneys as they can withstand high temperatures from heat sources. If you attempt to use any other kind of bricks, it’s likely that this material will crack from such high heat exposure in the best case—and potentially explode and cause serious harm in the worst case.

Landscape boulders, especially porous stones like sandstone or granite, can crack or break over time. Cracks occur when water seeps into the surface of the stone and freezes. The risk is highest when it rains during the day and temperatures freeze overnight since the moisture has time to penetrate deeper into the rock before expanding.

Masonry is an umbrella term that involves adhering individual building materials together using an adhesive, so many different things are considered masonry. These include constructing stone or brick walls or facades, installing stucco siding, installing backsplashes or tile floors, and even installing glass block windows, in some cases. Masonry materials include natural stone, clay bricks, concrete bricks, glass blocks, and tiles.

Spraying is much faster but may not penetrate the bricks beyond a surface layer. Rolling penetrates the bricks but doesn’t work as well on the mortar. A combination of painting and rolling is your best bet. Using a brush to paint brick isn’t advised because it is time-consuming and won’t penetrate beyond the surface.

New constructions need time to “settle” and sometimes, small hairline cracks occur as a result. Larger horizontal or “stair step” cracks, however, are usually a sign of a deeper, more severe issue. It could indicate an issue with the soil beneath the home, a problem caused by an overgrown tree, or another problem.
