We had originally planned on doing the exterior of the house first but had to change our plans. Harvey was accommodating and offered suggestions. Some I took, some I didn't. We are already discussing the projects for this coming summer. He doesn't know it but I have a couple new ideas I may implement. "This service was exactly what I was looking for.  I wasn't confident about choosing the new look for my living room.  I wasn't sure what my "style" was, and what would look good together.  I needed a consultant to let me know if the items I was considering would look good together.  Amanda called me and we talked about what I liked/didnt like.  She had me post pictures from Pinterest and Houzz of rooms I liked.  From that she was able to tell me what my style was.  She noticed things I never realized before.  For example I apparently picked the exact style couch in every picture I posted.  As I found furniture I liked I would send her photos and she would let me know if she thought they would go good together.  For example she recomended a different coffee table - i needed one that was more substantial to balance the size of the sofa.  She also helped me fine-tune the paint colors for my walls - I thought this was the hardest part of designing the room, but I love the results. 
I was basically looking for someone to guide my choices, but they will also modify their level of service depending on what you need (cost varies depending on service needed).

"When you purchase this service you are asked to send pictures of the room,  and a layout drawing  with the dimensions in inches.  I sent pictures from every angle in the room.  My layout drawing was rough, but I made sure that the dimensions were correct.  It is important to show doors, and width from door to wall, windows and spaces between window and wall, etc.

Explain how you invision the room and what you would like to keep in the room. You should let her know what you like and dislike as far as fabrics, colors, and style of furniture.  I hate paisley, but failed to include this in the information that I sent to the designer.  So there was some paisley in my concept board. I told her what I liked, but failed to tell her what I disliked and would not want to see in the room.

Once I sent pictures, dimensions, and room layout I received 2  suggested layouts for the room from Jill.  I selected the layout that I preferred.  You they receive a concept board for the room with  her suggested furnishings and fabrics. To my surprise she also gives alternatives to what she suggests.  Her suggestions are in various price ranges so that you can choose within your budget.
