"Highly advise not to use them for any installation jobs. Sloppy work, incorrect with regulator placement and double billed after another experienced technician did the job. Even the experienced technician did a half assed job reconnecting an exhaust vent that he decided to remove to run the gas line which did not need to be removed. cannot get ahold of customer service to discuss or dispute the service bill which then has my oil and gas deliveries on hold. I prepaid for the gas delivery while under dispute and am being double billed. I may just find a more reliable local person as this big time company with small time feelis simply not working out."

"It took two weeks and many calls & emails for Mark to respond to the problem of a leak in the system which caused damage to the ceilings & floor. When he called back we were told that his company didn't have the time to come out. He referred us to another company that does work for him. Two weeks later, someone came to look at the system, said they think they found the problem and told us if it leaked again to call back because we might need a new pump. Well, it leaked. We called. They didn't return the call. So, we called a local guy who was willing to come out that day. When my husband explained what we were told, he said there was no pump involved. And, he was right because with the information we got from the local guy, my husband was able to fix the problem in ten minutes. Very disappointed in the lack of and quality of service from New England Spray Foam."

Yes, skylights can affect a home’s energy efficiency, either positively or negatively. Properly installed, energy-efficient skylights with Low-E coatings, double glazing, and UV-blocking glass can help regulate indoor temperatures and reduce heating and cooling costs. However, poorly insulated or older skylights can contribute to heat loss in winter and excess heat gain in summer, lowering overall energy efficiency.

The number one culprit of high energy bills is older appliances, especially fridges and freezers that are left on all the time. These two appliances tend to last a long time, which is good, but it also means that newer models are usually significantly more energy-efficient due to upgraded technology. The second most common reason for a high bill is heating and air conditioning.

Blower door tests are measured in a few different ways, but the most popular are air changes per hour (ACH) and cubic feet of air (CFM) moving through the house per hour. A good ACH score is less than 2ACH, but 1ACH is better. This means the house experiences a total air change within 60 minutes (for 1ACH). For 2ACH, there’s a complete change every 30 minutes, and so on. CFM scores are similar in that a lower score means less air change, and therefore less leakage.

Leaving lights on raises the electric bill, but not as much as having high-wattage light bulbs. The best way to save on electric costs is to swap your light bulbs to LED or CFL bulbs that use far fewer watts. You can also use smart lights and light switches to control usage via a smartphone or voice-controlled device.

A good SEER rating is between 15 and 20. However, if you want the best possible efficiency, look for HVAC units with a SEER rating higher than 21. Keep in mind that the SEER rating doesn’t mean that the unit will reach that efficiency all the time, but it does have the capacity to operate at that high of an efficiency level.
