"I signed a contract on the first week of June to have PIC Home ?Pros? remodel 3 bathrooms. They stayed for a week in the middle of September, and stopped coming, leaving a vanity in one bathroom, and a shower door in another bathroom completely uninstalled. On the last day here, I was told shower door still has not been manufactured yet, but would take a couple of weeks. They told me that it would cost $150 to have them come back to finish installation, even though contract was for them to complete the work. They ignored my emails to them, so after waiting for 3 weeks and receiving response to my email, I called them, and was told that the shower door is not ready, and even though it?s been 4 months since it was supposed to be ordered, there is still no ETA. I asked that they come back to install the vanity, since we still have no sink in one bathroom. I was told that would cost another $650 to come back and install it. They will work until they are paid in full, then abandon you. "

Learning how to clean different types of countertops can help them look new for longer. Use a gentle cleaner on recycled glass countertops to avoid damaging the binding agent. Avoid harsh or abrasive chemical cleaners, which can damage the surface and shorten its lifespan. It’s also best to keep acidic cleaners away from countertops that use a concrete binding agent, as they can stain the surface, leaving it looking dirty and drab.

Epoxy is typically more affordable than granite, especially if you’re choosing a high-end slab. Most granite countertops cost $75 to $145 per square foot to install, with high-end varieties topping $185 per square foot. 

In contrast, epoxy countertops cost $50 to $150 per square foot to install. The material costs for epoxy are significantly lower than granite, but installation costs can be higher. Rather than simply cutting granite countertops to size before installation, your contractor will need to carefully pour the epoxy over an existing surface.

A tungsten carbide-tipped blade, sometimes called a solid-surface planer carbide-tipped blade, is the blade for cutting this type of surface. These blades are hard enough to cut through the surface and leave a workable edge. However, the rough cut edge the blades leave behind can lead to microfractures that eventually compromise the countertop. Sanding and smoothing the edge prevents these microfractures. 

Ideally, a pot filler should not be centered but rather installed to the left or right of the cooking surface to avoid having to reach over the hot area to access it. If this arrangement isn't possible, you can technically center a pot filler above the cooking surface, but you'll need to take care not to burn yourself. Also, the filler itself will become hot from a large boiling pot or stovetop.
